Nice, ive had to do the exact same on a 250 cdi. Same housing, that one that you replaced with a jubilee clip would have made life much much easier for me, i somehow managed to put the old one back in place but i had to remove the metal bracket next to it which was a right pain. Good vid thank you

This was a helpful video as I could not find one to match a 2010 c220 cdi. It took me an hour to do the change, a bit fiddly but with some long nose pliers the clamps came off easily. Only required E10 torx for the 4 bolts. The thermostat casing I removed had a small crack which was causing a leak which I suspect was caused by a slightly faulty thermostat causing too much pressure (about 1 litre leak/200km). I installed a Vemo after removing the MB part, also a new O ring on the top hose to the radiator. $146 AU for the part and $36 AU for a small torx set. The CEL came on for a short while and after checking some blogs and waiting it turned off. Operating temp showing at @90C now instead of 60-80 variable

Thanks for the vid. Did mine few days ago. Front bottom bolt cancelled in my case. Probably because of mold distortion since I went for the after market part at 1/3 of Mercedes price. Also had to replace the big o-ring on the fat pipe that fits into the housing. The one going to the top of the radiator. All seems good again.

Thanks for the video I am replacing my sprinter termo and I have a question, is the hosing that go on top of the engine ( the bottom one ) seat between the pipe and rubber or the rubber and pipe going inside the hosing?

For anyone about to do this I highly advise getting the rubber tube seal that the thermo housing slots on to. Mine was buggered after I pushed the new housing on and took 3 weeks till I had a really bad leak. The rubber tube is only 30 bucks from merc in Australia and will save you going back and doing it all over again if it’s brittle and old. Plus it makes getting the new housing into place waaaay easier as you can keep more play on the tube.

Did it today on a sprinter 2012 with same engine... so much space but still so tight. The upper screw on front side is canceled. But finally the engine is running again.

Why do people seem to still think you have to put the heater up. No cars nowadays use a valve to allow water flow. That was something you did back in the 80s and it was virtually gone by then.
