What happens when you damage a bow wrap and the leather grip becomes loose But dont wanna replace either of them

How thick is the leather?

I am still fairly inexperienced, but all the leather I have bought was from luthier suppliers and was specifically prepared for replacing the leather on bows, so I did not have to worry about thickness. It was already cut into small rectangles, one per bow.
