How do you keep the crown from coming loose when turning it to set the time? Is there a special glue that can be used to keep it on?

Yes, you can get locktite 270. It's a high strength thread locker

​@@mgomez5606yes, it won't be a permanent seal. Worst case if it is too hard to remove you can give it some heat (from a lighter or similar) and it will loosen it up to remove it

Hi, i have a blancpain villeret 40mm watch in stainless steel 2 years old (2020) watch and i noticed that it is stiff when i try to wind it. It has 72 hours power reserve. Example: When i wind it, it is tight.. I have to pull out the crown then i have to push it back in, in order for it to be buttery smooth when i wind it. It keeps excellent time BUT it is just stiff/tight if i wind it without pulling out the crown and pushing it back in first.. feels like resistance.. Any idea on what could it be? I dont have warranty. My jlc reverso is so smooth , i dont have to pull out crown and push back in for it to be smooth wind. Which type of silicone/oil for the crown gasket do you recommend?

From the video I do not see that the thread lock is used to seal the crown and the stem before closing up the watch cover and claimed that the job is done. My question is , will the crown comes loose one day without applying the thread lock????? Or this step is not necessary???

Hello, I replaced stem on similar citizen but when crown is pushed in to the final position watch keeps losing time or stops randomly at the same second hand position. What could go wrong?

Radek Jakubowski Using a voltmeter set to DC volts, see if you have 1.5 volts. + Red lead to the + side of the battery which is always facing up when mounted in a watch and black lead - to the other side of the battery. You can buy a cheap voltmeter for under $10.

When I turn the crown it only moves watch hands turning counter clockwise it doesnt catch and just spins when turning clockwise, how can I fix?

How would you get the stem out of the crown,if it had broken off level with crown thread please.And where would l find a new stem for an Armani AR0585. Regards

Drilling and re-threading may be the only choice. The watch model is not needed, just the watch movement number; blog.esslinger.com/identifying-watch-movements/

I would honestly buy a new crown, but if your pressed to save it there is only one option: drilling it out, and it will be a hemeroid to remove without drilling out the threads, not to mention one hell of a small bit and surgical hands to work with. That's why I say replace it. You can buy crowns by the bag anyway.

Ok? How in the world is identifying the movement number supposed to help with the part number for the stem? The webpage linked in the video is no help at all, since it also leads to a page for buying different stems, which have nothing in comparison to the quartz movement number. All that page shows is different stems with a three letter prefix (ETA, ESA, HAM) followed by a three digit reference number. How in the world is this supposed to help me? I need a stem for an older victorinox that doesn't even have a movement number and literally hundreds of different stems to choose from at $10 a pop. Without a reference sheet or chart to pick a stem, how am I supposed to determine which one to buy?
