Working on my kid's 2000 TJ. I really appreciate the detail of your videos, I've used quite a few over the years ... thanks for doing these. Love the newer ones where you have your girls doing the work. Really shows that folks can do this stuff at home.

I went out to my 2000 TJ this morning and coolant all over the garage. It's been howling for a while, did not know what it was, but you just mentioned it. Thanks for the video. Now to find someone to replace it.

Removing the fan and shroud is a pain with the engine in place. Any tips on that? I’m tempted to cut the fan shroud and put a hinge clip or something lol. Great channel. Helped me a bunch with everything

If you can get the fan off, then the shroud should come easier 👍 Glad the videos have helped ya out!

the four bolts on the fan... Is it just me or are they nearly impossible to remove?? They look to be tack welded on, and I have two 13 mm wrenches to try pry them off. Even with an extension on the wrench to get more torque it just starts to strip off the metal. Any help on what to do? Thank you!

Do you have to remove the engine? I can do this all under the hood yea?

I'm replacing the 2.5 engine in my yj. Is there a video or a diagram somewhere on all of the brackets and stuff bolted onto the motor? Stuff like the alternator and power steering and tensioner, etc. is confusing when reassembling it all. Would be helpful. These videos are great btw!

Thanks for making this video. Noticed a leak last weekend on my way home and upon inspection found it coming from the weep hole, so another unit is on the way, however wanted to know if the blown seal might have caused any damage anwhere else besides the pump itself (i.e. is there anything else I need to look out for besides changing the pump?)
@JeepSolid6 жыл бұрын
Should be just the pump, unless it lost a lot of fluid and overheated or something....
@tdietz206 жыл бұрын
thanks. Didn't notice any overheating issue, though I'm going to change the oil anyway just in case. Saw a couple drops when stopped for gas about 30 min from home but no further drips. Then when home and cooled I popped the radiator cap and it was not empty but the vacuum release caused a bunch more to dump out of the weep hole. Was mainly worried whether blown seals might throw oil or junk into the radiator or engine.

Just finished the replacement, thanks so much for making this video. As I think someone else mentioned the step that's missing is fully removing the steering pump and bracket since it's bolted to the pump, but anyone following your video can't be led amiss because it becomes obvious and the disassembly can't proceed without doing it. Also I needed to remove the stationary idler pulley to get the heater pipe sticking out the top of the pump out (which you didn't have installed on your project engine)
@waynepfremmer99213 жыл бұрын
I need you to please answer this question. My Jeep when I have the radiator cap of it starts to overflow. Also it gets to temp very fast and starts to overheat and the coolant is still cold. I think it’s a water pump. What do you think? I need help with this

Out of curiosity did you recycle the footage of removing the power steering pump from your exhaust manifold video?

Did you replace the studs, or remove from the old water pump? How did you get them off, it you reused them? PS..love the videos and I have ordered some swag off your site. Let's do an LS swap one day!
@gj52503 жыл бұрын
Nice video but when do you install the heater hose pipe that connects to the water pump. My pump didn't come with a new pipe so I tried removing the old pipe off the old pump and it broke off. I will go back to the internet and see if this part is available.
@JeepSolid3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, have to install before pump goes on.
@jeremycrozier26 жыл бұрын
What about the heater tube connection? Aren't you supposed to thread that on before putting the pump back on the engine?
@JeepSolid6 жыл бұрын
I was able to get mine off before removing the pump, but yeah, be easier to thread it on first. Good tip. Thx!

Great idea, to make a video with one engine on a stand and the other in the vehicle. I had just another; OH, that's where that part goes moment, while I try to reassemble and reinstall my engine, from memory. BTW, for the RTV, they are now making SPECIFIC RTV's for different applications. Water pump RTV would be a Coolant Application.

I am afraid I am an idiot. What happens if you put coolant in engine block and the radiator? After replacing the thermostat and water.pimp? Did I just blow my engine?
@JeepSolid3 жыл бұрын
What do you mean in the engine block? Where'd you put it in? Need more specifics 👍🏽

@@JeepSolid Thanks for the reply. I poured it in where the thermostat goes with the water pump in place...but it does not matter now, all is well and just finished tonight. The 4.0 is running nice and smooth and sounding better than before.

DO YOU LIVE IN THE BAY AREA??? I HEAR THAT THE HOMELESS PROBLEM IS VERY CHAOTIC, AS THEY ARE CRAPPING IN THE STREETS, AND THE NEEDLE EPIDEMIC I HAVE HEARD IS ONE OF THE WORST IN THE NATION, IT SADDENS ME TO SEE THAT ONCE VERY BEAUTIFUL CITY DETERIORATE, I VISITED THE BAY AREA A FEW TIMES IN THE 80S AND THE 90S AND IT WAS NOT AS CLEAN BUT I KNOW IT WAS MUCH CLEANER BACK THEN THAN WHAT IT IS NOW.
@robs93jdmaccord Жыл бұрын
This Jeep is one of the worst designs, the water pipe coming off the water pump is leaking at the fitting and you cannot change that by itself without fully removing the water pump and for that I’d rather burn the car
