That's some pretty helpful information. The only thing I'd have to do different is use a little tube splice that crimps and black tape instead of soldering because anything that's just soldered ends up snapping off on the lengthy dirt road I live on. Lots of washboard ruts and all that. Thank you for all the help on that.

What would cause the egr sencer to melt down ?;)

Did your truck spit and sputter and backfire wouldn't take gas

Hey I got a 97 5.2 I'm having stalling and (like) dying while under load. Does yours do this.

Did your truck stall before fixing this?

What does the EGR actually do? Will it improve gas mileage or anything?
@figibloom10 жыл бұрын
EGR stands for exhaust gas recirculation its basically a valve that allows exhaust gas to recirculate into the combustion chamber and it is to help your car burn fuel more efficiently and it helps to create fewer emission. That is basically what it does. You can google tons of info on egr valves and solenoids and how they work.

AJ Pierce thanks aj. It's so hard to get straightforward info sometimes. I admire your direct reply. I just knew that valve had something to do with the fuel consumption. It took me less than ten minutes to do it myself thanks to the amazing videos on you tube. I'm so grateful. I saved about 200 doing it myself. And all I did was change the pressure sensor. The EGR valve itself was still operational and got rid of 32 code. Now I have to deal with the other 6. Lol.

Is this the 3.9?

did the code go away
@figibloom7 жыл бұрын
Yes my code went away. One thing to look for when replacing the egr components, is melted components. If you find any melted components either the metal or plastic pieces, you most likely have a plugged or restricted exhaust (most likely bad catalytic converter). You can check exhaust pressure at the egr lower tube using a pressure gauge, If you have excess pressure you have a restricted exhaust, which can back up the egr system and melt components, this can also cause the vehicle to run poorly, have low power, and sometimes the engine will die because it cant breathe correctly. Well I hope this info helps you out. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Have a good day.

I changed egr runs great but still has alil miss not at idle but when in going between 30 to 70mph. not bad but it jus urks me lol. the miss don't occur at full throttle it's weird
@OGGventures_cruising4 жыл бұрын
@@willsilversurfinharris6239, this is what mine is doing. Has a mis or huckup when under load. Fine if it's idling or going wide open but below 3000 rpm it really doesn't like it when climbing hills on the freeway.

I'd be nice to know what you found. 🤞

Try having fuel sync reset

I've got a Chrysler Corp 2.5l Dodge Dakota, honestly it's an engine that was build with emissions as an afterthought so I may just plate off my egr ports and straight pipe and bypass the 02.

Figgy, beside the 32 code, did your truck show any other symptoms? Rough idle, stalling while decelerating?
