Hey thanks for reaching out! I believe the one I used in this video was from Harbor Freight. I no longer use that one because it did not last very long. I bought a craftsman about a year ago and it's still working. Here are the links for both a 3/8ths drive and 1/2" drive: 3/8" up to 100 ft. lbs.: amzn.to/3X9v3fn 1/2" up to 250 ft. lbs.: amzn.to/3MszwFa

@@TrickShiftGarage thank you so much and completely unrelated but, I’m removing my exhaust and between the cat and mid muffler there’s a clamp. I took the nuts off the two bolts but still haveing problems removing it and can’t find any videos. Any advice short of an angle grinder?

Yea I remember I ran into that when I installed my catback. There are these little metal tabs that you need to bend outwards. Then, you gotta deal with some rust holding it together. Just wiggle it and it will eventually come apart. It just takes a little bit of time.

All though it may be easier if you don’t have the compression tool you can use needle nose pliers to push and twist the pistons, they will compress fairly easy.
@TrickShiftGarage
@TrickShiftGarage Жыл бұрын
Just be careful around the piston seal and you should be fine. Thanks for watching! 🤟

That shit was hard as hell. My shit was so fucked, I had to disconnect my caliper from the brake line and that damn parking brake cable was a bitch to get off. I had to use the tool to twist the shit back in.

Do the boot on the rear calipers around the piston have to be completely flush with the piston or can it be slightly above the piston upon reinstalling?
@TrickShiftGarage
@TrickShiftGarage 2 ай бұрын
Its gotta be very close to being flush or else the pins won't align properly.

You may need to use a Mallet to get them off. Fords are famous for seizing.

I bought second hand calipers so I’m not sure which way the squeal pins goes, would you remember by any chance? On the inner or outer side of the rotor?
@TrickShiftGarage

Hello Simon! I believe they go on the inside of the rotor.

Do you need to bleed the brakes or open the reservoir cap ? When doing this ??
@TrickShiftGarage
@TrickShiftGarage 2 ай бұрын
You don't need to bleed the brakes, but you should definitely loosen the cap and keep an eye on the level as you compress the pistons in the calipers.

What size did you use for the brake caliper compressor?
@TrickShiftGarage
@TrickShiftGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Anthony! To be honest, I can't remember. I didn't really pay attention to the size I was choosing. I just kept trying out different fittings until one fit in the slots of the piston. I do apologize that I didn't put that on camera. I'm sure it would have helped, but I will make sure any future video contains that type of information.

@@TrickShiftGarage these or the z23 are the ones I was looking at any problems like rusting to fast or warping with these?
@TrickShiftGarage
@TrickShiftGarage 2 жыл бұрын
To be 100% honest I didn't have the car long enough to see if they warped or not. The only time it rusted was if I left it in the parking lot for a week after it rained. Other than that they always looked great!
