The reason it doesn't work for everyone, you need to check that the composite video or artwork has the same size and framerate, by going to Layer, transform, fit to comp. That was why the first 3 attempts of mine failed and then it worked, just my experience. Great Tutorial

Dude u don't said that the comp of replaced footage must be the same size of main comp. And why did u not make visible bilboard lights?

try checking the anchor position on your image, sometimes can be off set to what the track image was. Slight adjustment should sort it right out

Also pre-compose the layer after that so that the movement and data is applied to the Artwork or footage you are comping in

I know this is an old video but I've tried and can't seem to get my footage to lineup with the tracking points. It shows me the track points and they line up perfectly with my footage but when I apply it onto any layer (I've tried with solids, precomp footage, pictures) it doesn't get put anywhere near my "track points" however it does follow the motion. It's like the position is incorrect but the movement is accurate. I am working with a 1920x1080 video and tracking something onto a TV screen. I can't adjust the position of my video to lineup with the track points because it's keyframmed. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

It sounds like the tracking data is being applied correctly in terms of motion, but the position offset is causing issues when aligning your footage with the track points. This is a common issue when dealing with different compositions or mismatched coordinate spaces in After Effects. Here's what you can try to fix this: ### 1. **Check Layer Size and Composition Settings:** Ensure that your composition settings match the resolution of your footage (both should be 1920x1080). If your footage is a different size than the comp, the tracking data might not align properly. ### 2. **Precomp Your Footage:** If you haven’t already, precompose your footage or the object you're trying to align. Then, inside the precomp, you can adjust the position, scale, and anchor point without affecting the main composition's keyframes. This keeps the motion tracking intact while allowing you to position the footage precisely. - Select your layer - Right-click and choose **Pre-compose** - Make sure to move all attributes into the new composition ### 3. **Apply Corner Pin or Align Manually:** Since you're tracking a TV screen (a flat surface), consider applying **Corner Pin** to your footage instead of just position data. Corner Pin allows you to map each corner of your footage to the tracked corners on the screen, which might give you better control. To apply Corner Pin in Mocha: - Export your track data as "Corner Pin (supports motion blur)" - Then paste this onto the target layer. ### 4. **Adjust Anchor Points:** The issue might be due to the **anchor point** of the layer you're applying the tracking data to. After applying the tracking data, manually adjust the **anchor point** of the object to align it with the tracking points. You can also check if the tracked data is being applied relative to the anchor point, causing misalignment. ### 5. **Verify Export Settings in Mocha:** Make sure you're exporting the correct type of data from Mocha: - Use "Transform Data" (if it's just position, scale, and rotation) - Use "Corner Pin Data" if you're dealing with perspective shifts, like on a TV screen. If you're still having issues, a workaround could be: - After applying the tracking data, go to your timeline and delete any **keyframes** related to position, then manually adjust the position and scale of the footage until it fits the tracked points perfectly. This should help you get your footage to align with the track points while keeping the motion correct. Let me know how it goes!

Everything is working fine for me, but at the end when I Apply Export and preview, it does not show my image overlayed. What am I doing wrong here? All steps work well until this point. Great tutorial BTW. Cheers from Canada.
@RealVideoFx4 ай бұрын
I'm glad you found the tutorial helpful. If everything works fine until the preview after applying the export, here are a few things you might want to check: Layer Order: Ensure that your image overlay layer is above the background footage layer in the timeline. Sometimes it might accidentally be placed below or hidden behind other layers. Visibility Settings: Check if the eye icon next to your overlay layer in the timeline is toggled on. This controls the visibility of the layer. Blending Mode: Make sure that the blending mode for your overlay layer is set appropriately. Sometimes, changing it to 'Normal' can resolve the issue if it was accidentally set to something else. Effect Controls: Double-check that all the effect controls and settings are correctly applied to your overlay. If keyframes are used, verify that they are set correctly throughout the timeline. Rendering Issues: Sometimes, rendering issues might cause the overlay not to display properly. Try clearing the cache (Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache) and preview again. If you've checked all these and it's still not showing up, you might want to retrace your steps or even restart After Effects to see if that resolves the issue. Hope this helps, and let me know how it goes!

i have followed every stepand every tutorial but it did the same result. first time i thought it disappear, but turn out that it off set of layer. i don't know but i think the mocha tracking and the corner pin on the object that i used to place in tracking is different. so how do i solve this
@RealVideoFx5 ай бұрын
Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and solve the issue: Check the Alignment of the Anchor Point: Ensure that the anchor point of the layer you are applying the tracking data to is centered or positioned correctly. If the anchor point is off, it can cause the layer to appear offset when the tracking data is applied. Verify the Composition Settings: Double-check that your composition settings, especially the frame rate and aspect ratio, match those of the footage you tracked in Mocha. Any mismatch can cause the tracking data to be misaligned. Examine the Tracking Data Scale: Sometimes, the scale of the tracking data might not match the scale of your After Effects project. You may need to manually adjust the scale of your object layer to match the tracking data. You can do this by selecting the layer and pressing 'S' to bring up the scale property, then adjusting as needed. Use the Align Surface Tool in Mocha: Before exporting your tracking data from Mocha, use the Align Surface tool to make sure the surface and the grid are perfectly aligned with the area you want to track in your footage. This ensures the data exported will match your target placement in After Effects. Pre-Compose If Necessary: If you're applying corner pin data to a layer with other effects or transformations, consider pre-composing the layer first. Apply the Mocha tracking data to the pre-comp so that the tracking data isn't affected by other transformations. Adjust the Corner Pin Effect: If you're using the corner pin effect with the data from Mocha and it doesn't line up, manually adjust the corner pin points in After Effects. Sometimes slight manual adjustments are necessary to get a perfect match.

I am trying to follow your guide step by step “but” for some reason, my graphic after setting up and trying to do tracking on the billboard pen tool and surface marks moves out of the subject. I tried for a couple of days, but the error same still there! I don't know how should fix it. By the way, I have checked all the icons on the track motion options including Persp.
@RealVideoFx9 ай бұрын
Here are some suggestions to troubleshoot this issue: 1. Check Your Tracking Points: Ensure that the tracking points you’ve selected on the billboard are distinct and maintain consistency throughout the shot. Avoid areas with low contrast or those that might get obscured. 2. Adjust the Tracking Search Area: Sometimes expanding or reducing the search area can help Mocha better understand the motion. 3. Analyze Frame by Frame: If there’s a particular point where the track slips, manually adjust the tracking at that point. Mocha allows you to make keyframe adjustments. 4. Perspective Tracking: Since you’re tracking a billboard, perspective changes might be significant. Ensure ‘Perspective’ is enabled in your track motion options, which you’ve done. 5. Stabilize Your Footage: If the footage is very shaky, pre-stabilizing it before tracking can help. 6. Update or Reinstall: Ensure you’re using the latest version of Mocha. Sometimes bugs can cause tracking issues, which are often resolved in updates. 7. Check for Obstructions: If something (like a passing vehicle) temporarily blocks the billboard, it can throw off the track. Mask out these obstructions if possible. 8. Use Manual Track: If automatic tracking fails, consider using the manual track feature for challenging sections. 9. Refer to Tutorials: Sometimes specific tutorials can offer insights into complex tracking scenarios. 10. Seek Community Help: Post your issue in forums or communities dedicated to After Effects and Mocha. Often, professionals in these communities can provide valuable insights.

I would of made the billboard layer 3d, brought in some lights within after effects to simulate the sun reflection from above, added a curves effect and brought up the blacks so they weren't as sharp as they're and more soft, then added a blur to the comp billboard layer to replicate the out of focus text behind the billboard you replaced where you can see the LA text in the background to sell the effect more. I've always just used after effects for tracking but thanks for dropping this tutorial ill definitely be experimenting with this.
