How to Replace Boat Refrigerator | Remove & Install Fridge on Sea Ray Boat

We recently replaced our 20 yr old Norcold refrigerator with a Vitrifrigo marine fridge on our 2002 Sea Ray 410 Sundancer boat. It was a big project that involved taking apart the cabinet around the fridge, removing the cabin door and more. Watch the full process of how we removed the old fridge and installed the new one. The process is similar for other Sea Ray boat models with a cabinet, and hopefully this video will be helpful for any boat refrigerator project.

Right!!!! And as nice as it is for the guy on the dock to lend a hand, you don't want him being the one to squeeze a fridge into the boat LOL. This one was a full family job with our daughter taking over the gopro a bit too. Thanks & good luck with your upcoming fridge swap!

I have taken out every. single. screw. I could find, but the cabinet still wont come out. i even slid knife around to break any seals or glue. I have the new Vit fridge ready to go and the old fridge is already t the recycler, but i am stumped on the cabinet! Can you help me?

Is your boat a Sundancer or Express cruiser? We had to remove the cabinet on our Sundancer because we couldn’t get the old fridge out but from what I understand you can get the old out on the Express without removing the cabinet. For us there was one last screw hidden under the step there was a block of wood under the step & that supported the fridge so look there - that was the last one we found that did the trick for us! I hope this helps!!! 🤞

Unfortunately not sure the Sea Ray manual with our ‘02 410DA only has a Sea Ray part #, but dimensions of the fridge should be easy to obtain by measuring outside of fridge (not including frame that holds fridge in) width & height is most important. Also on Vitrifrigo site they have full specs and a number of options. Good luck - so far love our Vitrifrigo.

We didn’t time it but project took pretty much all day. Mainly because we had to take apart the old fridge to get it out of the cabin, pull out the cabinet (after finding 16million screws!) etc. it’s a big project but doable. Definitely have an extra person to help!

The cabinet curves out in front of the doorway on our Sundancer so there’s no way to get the old fridge out or new fridge in unless you take the cabinet out. Worst part of the whole project!! There’s a recap at end that explains it & in beginning a bit too.

@@MyBoatLife I put 2 new Virfrigos’s on my boat the one inside worked intermittently for about a month, until I found the ground wire screw was lose(from factory). The outside one was intermittent pulled out and back in several times over several weeks, finally found a kink in the coolant line(from factory) slowly unbent line and been working great for 2 years now.
