I think many dealers are now charging $180/hr labor. That cost can add up fast depending on how long 'they say' it will take to do the job.

Your video helps me temporary remove my antenna for one reason: I need put on the roof tandem Kayak. Antenna locate on bad sput and need to be removed for properly transportation of not small 14 feet kayak. I own Chevy Orlando 2014, that is 7 passenger van and its base the same, like a Terrain or Equinox. Thank you a lot. Just have to unscrew. It is so easy. 🤝🤝

You could reinstall in a different location where it won’t get in the way or install a universal shark fin antenna over the original one that doesn’t have the long rubber sticking out

What size drill bit did you use

I bought a replacement base for my father who has a 2015 Terrain. When he was changing it, the car base that's installed has two doubled up wire connectors (four wires, one that has two, and one more the same). The replacement has one pair and one more that is a single connector, like the one in your video. Is there a way to connect the replacement three wire base, is there an adaptor or do I have to hunt down the four wire replacement antenna base? I opened up the bases and the original base has two chips on it and the replacement has one chip.

Mine is currently broken and the radio channels are pretty spotty but I mainly listen to XM radio and it's just fine. If I'm parked in the garage or parked under a thing while pumping gas I loose single but that's the only time. I drive a 2013 equinox.
