One thing I noticed is that the plastic panel you removed - at the center rearside there is a hole @ 3:03 , and there is usually a tall hook that you have to stick your finger through that hole and push the hook aside. You can see that someone in the past has broken that off, I nearly did the same because that really holds the plastic piece in position and I found it difficult to see without a torch that it was there.

Fins go vertical (NOT horizontal) with the 2 alignment holes at the top.

Pos vehicles. German engineering is full of redundancies, causing more issues. Ive never had a mercedes that ran as well and smooth as my honda accord. Not to mention maintenance is actually real in Hondas, its a joke in VW cars.
