I was working on a 2011 CTS4. The the tabs on the housing discussed weren't an issue on this model and the process was much smoother than the video shows. That being said, the video was well done and saved me at least $80.

Following your video I was able to change my cabin filter but it took much longer than expected. I would think that if you disconnected the hood piston and raised the hood higher (if that could be done) it would be easier to install the filter. Also when I removed the old filter the folds were in the up and down orientation and it was also this way in your video when you removed the old filter. I was unable to get the filter installed with the folds oriented side to side as you had done. It went in much easier with the folds up and down.

The filter can be the same size but the folds direction can change depending on the manufacturing.

Heyoo, Thanks in advance i got the job done. But had curiosities and questions. The filter you removed had the fliter lines oriented up/down. The filter you inserted had them oriented left/right. When i tried inserting oriented as you had it the housing wasnt wide enough, I would have had to bend the firm sides to fit it into place. So I inserted with filter lines oriented up and down, as the original filter you removed was oriented. But if im not careful the filter falls into the housing like 4 to 6 inches deep instead of resting at the correct level. I replaced it yesterday, havent checked again since to see if it remained in place.

Man this is a pita to change, I accidentally pulled the frame away from the firewall can’t see how to get it clipped back in

Filterheads so my issue was that the clips the frame clips into the firewall with fell inside the fire wall... I had to take out the battery tray and a bunch of the plastic trim in front of the firewall to get the filter housing to stay.
