This is a great video, but I wouldn't use tongue and groove pliers to push down the piston. You should use the old brake pad over the top of the piston so that you have even pressure against the piston. Either way, 1A makes some excellent repair videos.

I followed your video on replacing the drive shaft and it worked perfectly. But my only question on this is what do I do if I have to replace the calipers too?

What if you do not have a torque wrench to confirm 96 ft lbs for the reattach of the carrier bracket? What can you use if you do not have a T30 driver also to secure the rotor on the hub? Is there an alternate tool?

After watching your informative video I am thinking of doing my own. I have ABS and AWD . Does this change anything I saw in video?

+Rick Ricnado Thank you for checking us out. Having ABS and AWD should not change any steps you have to take in comparison to the video. 1aauto.com

I noticed you never opened up the hood and removed the lid to the brake fluid reservoir. I've done a grip of breaks for friends and family as well as myself, GM, honda, nissan, toyota, dodge. I'm not sure if the cts is the same as deville and escalade but I currently am about to undergo a full break system upgrade on my caddy (2008 STS 4.6) and I'm curious on the steps need taken to safely and properly run this project. Please let me know, thanks in advance. Oh yeah, the rotors are vented, drilled and slotted. The pads are ceramic and my wheels are 20" with 255/35r20 tires

+jsierras81 Thank you for checking us out. You may remove the cap to the brake reservoir. We apologize that this was not noted or available in our video. 1aauto.com
@danreilly16503 жыл бұрын
Does this mean the cap must be taken off or is it an option ? Thank you

Why you don't clean the rotor after you spray?
@brittneybryant49033 жыл бұрын
Doesn't look like the the E-Break was on for this. You should also mention not to ever put ANY amount of grease on the pads or rotor.
