I have the same model and used it once and put it into the orange case that came with it. Hurricane Irma made a visit and I had a small oak limb that I wanted cut, and I opened my case and found about a cup of bar oil sitting on the floor. Used my saw and sent it in for repairs. ( The bar oil cap was on tight)

Mine has never leaked and Ive had it two years. the oil cap is tethered to the tank by an extremely thin plastic cord. I did get that cord hung up under the oil cap gasket once.

I think I have a good understanding of the 211. I owned one until I traded it off several years ago. I have a Ms 180 and 181 and I just got through replacing the sprocket on the 181. The 181 has a 6T sprocket. I tried the 7T I got off eBay but it gave a bad clicking sound with my bar and chain. From your video it seems the 211 has a 7T sprocket, unlike the 6T found on my 181.

There are no 7 tooth ⅜ picco/low profile spur drums on a Stihl saw. They only make them with 6 drive teeth. Rim sprockets are 7 tooth for ⅜p/lp. You bought a .325 pitch spur sprocket which is only in 7t or 8t spur sprocket. The MS211 has the same spur sprocket that's on the MS170-181, 6T ⅜picco spur sprocket.

Yes. It’s a thine wire about 1/4 inch long.

When I try to change the sprocket and remove the C clip on the end I always find it pins off somewhere never to be found again. What's the best way of removing it without this happening and how often do you tend to change your sprocket?

I have a dozen spare clips for just that reason.
