Thank you for this video! Saved me a ton of money being able to do myself but pulling back that cabling/tubes before unscrewing the thermostat sensor was a real SOB😂

Problem with my 2002 Suburban is that during cold weather the coolent temp will not come up to normal operating temperature. I'll get a check engine light saying the thermostat is stuck open. I've replaced it twice with no luck. The proper thermostat with the stand offs I ordered will not fit into the opening of the water pump so I bought other thermostats off of Ebay that says they will fit my truck. Suspect this water pump that looks new had been installed and not up to standards by previous owner. Feeling the lower intake hose to water pump and it;s cold so I know not much water is being circulated. Is it possible that the sensor is not giving me a correct reading?

+Roger Merritt We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

Now what if I can’t get the new sensor to screw back in? It’s the same one but it won’t tighten:(
