Great video, I've worked in too many shops to not point out that the best practice is to hold down the brakes until you get a good star pattern rotation at least two times while the tire is in the air, then lay it down gently so you can rotate the nuts to the proper torque specification. In addition, it's okay to use anti-sieze on any of these nuts so they will not strip during torque rotations. Drive 50 miles or so, then check your lugs again for loosening.

Thats a very good idea! The only one that might be an issue is the axle nut because it is supposed to have a cover over it but if a guy could get the cover off without taking off the rim then that would definitely be the way to go👍🏼 heck it would still probably be worth doing it solo to take off the rim and put it back on just because it can be pretty annoying trying to hold it from turning. Pro tip: Put a screwdriver through the caliper and into rotor slots to hold the hub still
@DT-ge8gd3 жыл бұрын
Ummm.. hmmm. Better "pro" tip... remove the tyre, then the dust cap, and while the wheel is on the ground you loosen the centre nut. No risk of bending a screwdriver jammed in the rotor, or damaging any other part like the backing plate, brake lines etc... if the screwdriver slips. Or in this case bending the threads on the wheel studs by wedging something between the studs !! Yikes !!
