Good video, well done, but the whole job is a lot easier if you can pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet, tip it on its side, and go in from the bottom. No tools needed. Watching this still helps.

Thanks for this video. Before you replace the pump, pop the impeller out and see if it can be cleaned. I found a lot of hair and crud wrapped around the shaft and removing it fixed the issue.

Thank you for for this! You've saved me hundreds in having someone come out to repair and provide parts, or I might've even just decided to buy a new dishwasher if that was going to add up to too much.

Thank you for this video! I did exactly as you said and found a piece of glass, I could not get to it from inside the dishwasher. I was able to cancel the repairman and save me $200. I really appreciate you making this video.

Same here, the filters do nothing to stop broken glass entering the pump - I guess that’s outside of design parameters!😂

I was able to change the drain pump on my bosch SHE79T55UC/07 dishwasher because of your video. I did not have to take my dishwasher out from it being installed under the counter. It only took me 15 min. Huge thank you.

Very simple and clear to understand. The job itself was really easy to do if you are a reasonably proficient DIY person. I was sure the pump was blocked after the impeller as it wouldn't empty and kept coming back after clearing. It turned out to be the water inlet unit was blocked with limescale and other rubbish and needed to be replaced- now have the dishwasher working again!

You're a life saver! Hubby and I followed your instructions and voilà, problem fixed...a bit of glass in the sump stopping the impeller from spinning and thus not draining. Thanks for for your generous time :)
@jasonmudge50279 ай бұрын
Thank you this really helped me, I found my problem was a piece of broken glass stopping the impeller spinning, the dishwasher responded with flashing the input pressure tap icon, but that was because it wasn’t draining, you could literally hear the pump crunching this piece of glass, which is why I went straight for it, and your video helped me find and remove it, clear the blockage - thank you!

Thank you very much for the step by step tutorial. Cost me £36 for a new pump which I was able to fit myself saving, what I imagine, would be a few quid. Even replacing everything was made much easier following your vid. Keep it up 👍Cheers.

This is an excellent step by step video which was easy to follow. Thank you. I found it easier to tilt the dishwasher like you did when carrying out the repair in order to take off the parts and reassemble them again. It was much easier to see.

This was great, helped a lot. I checked the standard things that prevented the dishwasher from draining (debris in the sump, blocked hose etc), but it still failed to drain intermittently. So followed your instructions and looked at the pump. It still spun, but had a fair bit of cotton and hair and stuff wrapped around the axle, which probably was enough to prevent it from draining. It also gives you a chance to check the outlet hose where it meets the sump, and for me this also had a bit of unpleasant congealed fat or something in it, so I cleaned that out too. Looking good now. Thanks again.

Brilliant video. Easy to understand steps. A dash of common sense (and tools) is all you need. Beforehand, I could hear the motor/impeller still trying to work for a split second, then stopping. After inspection I found a tiny piece of glass which was stopping the impeller. Really stoked. Thank you!

Thanks so much, our dishwasher is back up and running after watching this. My pump had picked up a long thread of cotton around the shaft which was not letting it spin freely and I was getting Error 25. It took me about 5 minutes to inspect the pump with only basic tools after watching your video. I didn't even need to buy any parts! Cheers!

Great video. My issue turned out to be the citric acid granules I used recently for drainage care had formed two small lumps that stopped the impeller from turning. I've learned to use smaller intermittent doses of the citric now.

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed to fix my pump issue - an amazing amount of crud wrapped around the impeller and causing an error code and check water light to come on. Fixed.
@laurencewesson42362 жыл бұрын
Good video, thanks, but with some comments. First, this process is much harder when the dishwasher is actually installed under a counter. I found access difficult, constantly having to lye on my back or side from various directions to reach the fasteners. Second, it would help to mention that the fasteners are torx, not phillips, screws, and many people would have to go out and shop for torx drivers. Somebody suggested soap on the motor gasket to make it possible to wrench it into the hole, but I used olive oil. Either way, it was virtually impossible to get the pump into its hole without lubrication. Fourth, the space for rotating the pump is so cramped you cannot connect the wire harness until the pump is installed properly, but then the receptacle faces away from you and it is difficult without a mirror to see where to plug the harness in properly. A final note: after (thankfully) using your advice and puzzling out the other mysteries on my own, my dishwasher still failed to drain. I have cleaned the filters three times (they were only plugged the first time), and now I have a new pump installed, and the problem is just as bad as before.

This is a great video, I'm about to remove the pump on our washer now to see if I need to order a new one, or if it's obstructed like others have discovered. Question: Why remove the main door cover?
@AndrewKaeding3 ай бұрын
Nevermind! Going through the steps myself, I see that the door hangs down too low to access anything if you don't remove it. My dishwasher is (I think) a newer model, with way more screws and wire connectors for the control panel...but overall...same basic elements. Found a piece of glass in the impeller housing. Free, 30-minute repair instead of a $200-300 service visit, or a new unit altogether...Thanks!

Thanks for a really helpful video. I would like to ask, in your experience can a pump just become "weak"? My pump runs and sounds OK but the machine will only pump out if I lower the outlet hose to about 1/2 height of machine. Then it pumps really well. It used to work OK with the hose going to the top of the machine. All filters are clear and pipes clean and pump impeller is clean and spins smoothly.

You’re welcome. I haven’t seen this sort of thing happen to these pumps. But have seen a strings and rubber bands get wrapped around the impeller slowing them down and not allowing to pump at full capacity

Put a little bran oil on the rubber seal, it makes it way simple to put back in and twist.
@ApplianceFault3 жыл бұрын
It’s best to use some sort of non harsh detergents. Some oils can make seals become spongy and deteriorate.
@lawmanlawreaper3 жыл бұрын
@@ApplianceFault agree but bran oil is very light and dissolve in water, it is food grade. The rubber on the pump is designed to handle harsh detergents used in the the wash process like highly alkaline salts. Sorry chemical science is one of my things.
