Just want to say thank you for your tutorial. It was very educational step-by-step easy to follow and I was able to replace my old water pump by myself. I’m a 64-year-old lady who did not want to spend the money on a repair.

Great video! Replaced mine in about 30 minutes, an hour with all tools cleaned up and coolant burped. Last pump had a plastic impeller which was in good shape, but the bearing and gasket was leaking. Part was $25 for a metal impeller, no brainer to just replace the whole unit.

Great video. Thanks! My water pump is leaking and will be replacing it using this video. I do have one question as to what you were saying at the end during the allen bit. Can you clarify what is being done during that part of the video?

I think he was saying something about letting the air bubbles out
@matthewward58495 жыл бұрын
I know I’m 4 years too late but for anyone else who has this question here’s the answer. You have to “bleed” the system to get the air out of there. Loosen the Allen bolt you see bubbles. Once the bubbles stop then tighten the bolt back. Should be no air in the system at all or you will have more problems down the line. Hope this helps! Cheers

I have changed these before, very simple but.... when you are ready for coolant and water, take off the clamp and refill it first through the top radiator hose until it comes out of the top radiator neck. These Jeeps can get air locked easily and can be a hassle to get air bubbles out of. Been there....

Missed the part where the fan was removed. Perhaps the 2006 came with an electric pump and therefore is not attached to the water pump. Also consider stagger torquing the water pump bolt. Also too, depending on how old your tensioner and serpentine belt is, might want to change those out too, since you have it apart. Other than those, great video. Much was learned! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

@Billigrin3 жыл бұрын
There's no direct access to the radiator on those models. The reservoir is the only way to add coolant to the radiator.
