WOW, I just picked up a ford F150 and thought I would see what replacing the CV's would take. Compared to the old 1993 Isuzu I had, this is a much easier job! The Isuzu was 10 hours of work, this looks to be 2 to 3 hours.

It's called a steering knuckle. You also failed to mention the stub shaft going into wheel bearing must be correctly aligned.

You do not have to take off all the ball joints, just take off lower shock and it will come right out the back, just did it so easy

@@locknload9143 don't tow just Jack it up and replace CV axle and Wheel Hub assy right thier , $800 bucks at Service Shop ,, under $250 to $300 including buying the list of tools if you don't have them Al I neede was to gwt A 21MM AND A 12 MM 12PT SOCKET

You don't need to remove tie rod, or upper control arm. Just remove suspension, and drop the cv out the back

Those are 2 different sizes!? Last time I replaced one, it litterly broke into 2 pieces because the parts store guy told me it was the same. I'll be taking my parts in for now on.

The 6 12 point 12 mm nuts are hard to take off lol

Yes just be sure no short cuts MUST be 12 pt 12 mm for tightest fit and DO NOT use Impact wrench at the beginning IF you strip them then YOu have to cut them off . I used 1/2 drive 12mm STD socket, But I sprayed WD PENETRATE OIL ON THEM THE NIGHT BEFORE AND AGAIN That morning they came off fine .

It’s not an exact fit at all. Not ONLY THE VIDEO CLEARLY SHOWS that they are completely (different) size (length). Also I’ve follow this video it cost me so much back forth to return this CV axle. It’s better to buy the FORD original PART AND PAY THE EXTRA$120 plus $$ to deal with the back and forth.

I was wondering about that. Dude says they're "identical" even though the shaft in the middle is obviously shorter than the original. That sucks you were misled like that.

@@xxdemonshitxx The Boots are longer covering mor of Shaft I went with Advance Auto ( CARQUEST item for my 2006 4WD f150 and it looks like this new one But it works just fine !
