How to Replace Front Brake Pads and Rotors | Jeep Patriot | 2007 to 2017

#Mundaneman replaces the front brake pads and rotors on his 2010 #JeepPatriot. This process is similar for 2007 to 2017 2WD and 4WD Patriots. I rate this job as an easy to medium difficulty DIY task if you have some mechanical ability and tools. I had to replace a caliper bolt as you will see how I rounded off the head of the old one. It took some effort but I got the caliper bolt out!
This process is similar on other Chrysler products such as Jeep Compass, Dodge Dart, Dodge Journey. Make sure you get the correct parts for your vehicle type.
These are brakes you are dealing with so if you aren't comfortable taking on this job then leave it to the professionals.

Taking the cap off the master cylinder before compressing the caliper is good practice. Good video 👍

Great video.. I did the front pads and rotors on my 2013 patriot today... on both sides , 1 slider came off nice and 1 ended up rounded horribly... all worked out in the end though. Thanks for the video 👍

I have a 2014 patriot that I just bought a wk ago .. I pulled both front tires for the heck of it just to get familiar w/ the brakes and noticed the bottom bolt of the driver side caliper doesnt move when i move the rotor to see if sliders are workin properly .. im thinkin it may be seized ... can the slider pins be replaced w/ out removing the whole caliper ? .. Im feelin a slight stick when I release the brake pedal .. so im thinkin it may be that pin ... Pass. side is fine .. No brake noise or shutter when applyin the brakes either ..

No one knows about the pad wear sensor, that's the reason why they don't show how to install it, but they should...

I recommend you not using purple ceramic grease on caliper pins, they either get stuck or rubber gets swollen. Use silicon grease .

Lose the Extension if you're gonna teach. All that's doing is taking your torque away from your rotation point. And how about this is the size we're using. Just an idea. There is no need for that extension other than possibly rounding the bolts off.
