Probably the best and most thorough brake pad replacement video I've seen on KZbin. I learned a few things. Thank you!

Good Video. Interesting idea about turning the pistons. Only differences I see with other YT vids about front brake jobs is 1: The use of brake cleaner to clean piston seals. 2: Holding down the brake lever while tightening up caliper bolts to help center caliper on the disc.

Excellent video! Thank you! That brake caliper tool is by OTC and they run anywhere from 80 to $100 depending on who you buy from.

Great video! Clear angles and instructions. I wish you had affiliate links to buy that spreader and the piston grabber.

Yeah, that would be awesome. I'll be working on that.

Well explained and demonstrated. Never thought to clean the pistons and boots. Makes sense.

How do you know which brake pads are compatible with those backing plates and which pads are not?
@motomecha5309 ай бұрын
If they are for this year make and model then they will fit the original backing plates. Brake pads are very model specific.
@IN_ZANE_9 ай бұрын
@@motomecha530I was just meaning in general, not specifically for that bike. Seems some bikes have those backing pads originally but then they don't get reused if switching to alternative pads.

Just get the right pads for your bike and the OEM anti squeal shims/metal plates,will fit no issue.

Is it normal that the wheel rotates with big resistance after replacing new pads? Brake calipers cleaned like new, brake fluid replaced and bled. Discs are quite worn out, but still have a minimal thickness.

After I had my front tire changed out I put my wheel back on and now when I hit the front brakes I get a pulsing feel like it grabs for a half second then lessens for a half second. Any idea what it could be? Maybe my brake pads aren’t set right?

Did one of the rotors get bent somehow?
@slothmarathonpromotions24705 ай бұрын
@@motomecha530 that’s what I’m wondering maybe they bent the rotor or dropped the rim when they were changing the tire. I’m going to have to take it back off and have a look at it all. You are San Diego based correct? I’m in La Mesa.
