Can you replace just CV Boots? Or do you have buy the whole shaft to correct worn CV outer boot?

The inner side of the axle is different on a 2006 beetle.. Doesn't have the bolts on the inside. Has a shaft you pull out. Not easy to pull. Need special tool for it.
