This video shows you how to install a front driver side brake hose on your 2001-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. A leaking brake hose is bad news! Losing fluid, or getting air in the system can cause the brakes to weaken or fail completely. Old, dry rotted, cracking, or bulging lines are on the verge of breaking and starting a leak.

I've got an '05 with 4.8 with drum brakes, plain jane 2WD. Just replaced the 2 front lines. One is OEM (right) and (AM) on the left. They were changed because the right side line cracked at the bracket on the knuckle. I understand, the truck is old, but after I installed both lines and did a full swing of the steering wheel, I noticed that the hoses stretch a wee bit more than I think they should. I have the correct lines because I ordered them by VIN and matched them up. Seems to me it's a bad design flaw. The hose start to do a 90 bend from the bracket. I can't believe it took that long for them to rip. If the bracket has maybe even a 1/2" relief cut into the bracket on the inside, it would allot the hose bend a little more freely. If you read this comment, I'd appreciate some feedback.
