When putting the wheel back on, I raise it up to the hub, push it on, then turn the wheel to line up the holes while at the same time, I hold the wheel on by using one hand to push on the middle of the wheel to hold the wheel on the hub. Then, I take my free hand and screw in the bolts. I don't have to hold the bottom of the wheel because the middle of the wheel fits over the protruding hub from the rotor assembly and I just put a little pressure with my hand on the middle of the wheel and it holds it just fine. It will not hop off the hub I promise you.😁

Great video. I am a bit apprehensive as all I have is a driveway and no lift so always a challenge. My question is on the angle gauge - it is not clear to me what the purpose of this is, why was this step necessary?

Yes please answer this.

The angle gauge is a step I learned working on a VW when I replaced the head after a timing belt failure. When torquing down the head bolts you torque them all to spec THEN tighten them an added 1/2 turn (or whatever it was). I’m guessing that is what is called for when he used that gauge on those bolts.

The angle gauge is usually for torque to yield bolts. What this means is that you first tighten the bolt to a specified torque, and then you use an angle gauge (or simply eyeball it like 90% of people do) to go even further. What this does is slightly stretch the bolt and causes it to hold tension on itself. Since the bolt only has a certain tensile strength, you can't do this too far or else you'll weaken it. What wasn't mentioned in this video, and really should have been, is that these instructions are only for the first time use of the bolt. These are technically one time use bolts. Once you take them off, you should replace them, since they can only be stretched once. This process isn't necessary if you're reinstalling the old bolts (which you shouldn't... but everybody does).

Quick question…do these have equal or higher durometer level bushings than oem? Back story, I purchased a new set of lower control arms from eBay (I know) for my wife’s 08 Xc90 and am having worse issues with lower arm bushing deflection than I did with the originals I replaced. Those parts fit fine, but the bushings are way to soft. I cannot afford to spend $700 on oe lower control arms so I’m looking for a quality alternative. I just don’t want to purchase from you guys and end up with a rebadged product like the eBay parts I’m going to replace. Sorry for the long comment/question, but I’m looking forward to your response. Side note, I am a gse shop manager/and lead and I use your videos whenever we get automotive jobs in the shop as help videos. Great job and Thanks!
