These triple square XZN bits are the absolute worst! I’m glad my replacements came with regular 5mm Allen instead! Instead of using an XZN bit, you can use some thin vise grips to get in between where the boot is and hold the arm like that instead. The parts are going in the garbage anyways so it’s not like you have to worry about damaging anything. Sometimes the momentum of an impact hammer might work also just don’t overtorque them. They only need 47ftlb from what I remember

Thanks for the video. You should always torque suspension parts. The sway bar link nuts go to 33 lb-ft.

I happened to have a genuine VW sway bar link for Tiguan and decided to replace it on my MK6 GTI today while it was being serviced. The rod itself had the same shape and length but where the bolt goes on seemed a bit longer than GTI’s. I was worried if it would scrape anywhere in there like inner fender panel or tyre. To naked eyes the end link area was only slightly longer and had a couple more threads.
