I like that showed every part and did not cut the video and leave anything to guess. I learned something else you might like also but It is also my preference to step away from the bike, to a work bench,. And. I found A heat gun will warm the hoses so that they are much easier handle. While making sure that you have cleaned every bit of gas off of It.

Thanks for the video, I refered to it several times during the process! I wish you would have shown in video how to change the other hose that runs down to the bypass line, I didn't want to tackle that one with better instruction, didn't look as simple as stated. One thing is that each of the 8 screws holding down the cover have a small clear grommet that sometimes come off with the screw or not, need to get those in the right place so each screw has a grommet. Overall super helpful!!

I need to know . I didn't see you push the unit back to that bend. When taking it out You had to release it taking it out. But u put it back in straight and I didn't see you bend it back. What happen?

My 06 Ultra with 10k miles left me stranded in the middle of nowhere with gas leak-ck valve malfunction and o ring. This helped as I have to replace assembly and not just o ring.

Thanks a bunch, I got fuel issues with the bike and can't afford to pay someone to work on it. Not even sure where I am going to get the coin to buy parts but some how I will find a way to fix it myself and save $$.

2008 road king here.. nice and direct info... how often do we need to change out the plastic fuel lines, since gas degrades plastic...

Anytime I change the filter I would change all lines, those lines will look dark brown And degraded looking when you’re due for a fuel filter change

Thanks very much for these 2 vids! My gauge sticks showing full tank at all times unless I hit a sizable bump on my 05 Springer. I'm hoping if I get that whole assembly out and grind a little bit off of the end of the wire sticking out of the end of the float that will cure the problem.

Why wouldnt you replace the regulator and pump and the filter while you where in there ?

If you're gonna replace the check valve just cut the hose and remove the assembly instead of manipulating the clamp to cut it and scratch the tank all up. The cut the clamp on a work bench away from the paint job.

Why did you not put the articulating arm back into place when you re-installed the assembly?

Im pretty sure it folds back over when it goes back in the tank. Or it wouldnt fit.

+dieselworld Yes, it just clicks back into place when you drop it back in due to the spring tension.

Helpful video! Does this video apply to a 2009 Peace officer heritage? Really low mileage 2200, climate controlled stored because of medical issue. I had a problem recently that I think was due to bad gas. Bike stalled in a second after starting it then one time it started and got me 300 yards closer to home. had to call AAA for a flat bed, next day it started and ran, but I still drained gas. Must I replace quick connect coupling or can I just replace filter? What is that pad you suggested cleaning? What is that other object that looks like a long filter? I took the fuel pump fuse out to release pressure but the bike didn't stop running, should it have? Also I had to press the start button very hard to engage starter. Checked all safety switches, clutch handle engaged and in gear in neutral. Didn't notice this issue the day after the tow home. Just wondering if the ignition switch on dash console have to toggled off and back on each time? I have theory and OEM repair manual but would be grateful for any input. Thanks

Disarmed my Harley and found that the filter that is in the fuel pump, not the one you changed, had 2 cracks. I clean it and I do not know if I stick them with some contact glue until the spare arrives. What do you suggest for me. Sorry if my English is not very good.

Right before you removed the fuel pump assembly, you used that large screw driver to push down on the plastic piece, which enabled that part to move, but when you began to insert the assembly, you did not do anything to that part of the assembly to reverse that motion and you then inserted the whole assembly. Can you explain a bit? Thx,

Can you just run a hose and bypass the filter? Or just use a basic inline filter and get rid of this propietary crap.

I'd drain the tank on anything involving GAS,,just to be safe..i caught on fire when i was 19 pouring gas into a carb on a mustang to prime it,so now i hate messing with fuel..never liked the idea of electrical parts in the tanks..i have a Dyna and im not looking forward to doing this.What a pain in the ass just to replace a fuel filter
