How to Replace harmonic balancer/crank shaft pulley on srt 392

Thank you for posting this video! I had a squealing noise for months thinking my AC Compressor was going bad. Sure enough i noticed my balancer was missing the entire center piece. I slapped a new one on and all the squealing is gone.. 😁🙏🏾 FYI I used the factory bolt to press the new balancer on, used a 1/4 extension thru one of the openings to keep the engine from rotating. Torqued to 130 ft-lbs

I just changed my oil and found it laying on my cover panel too seems like a common problem that these things just fall off

Nice vid! Can you tell me how you held it still while you torqued the bolt? I wonder why these things come apart? Mine failed at 66K miles.

@@Hoodrichleo I probably didn't put that right, The eng turns when tightening (or loosening), which is totally normal on any engine. I wondered how you held the eng from turning while tightening or are you saying the eng wont try to turn? I can only see that if it was a manual trans but maybe I'm missing something.

Yea just would be a much tighter space to work on

The hormonic balancer just randomly fell off

@@Hoodrichleo This happened to me like a week ago, it sucks because it's my only car right now so I still have to drive it around until the dealer can take it in and fix it. Thankfully my accessory belt didn't get damaged otherwise I wouldn't be driving it at all lol

Yooo was good ! I was reaching out bc I came across this video shortly after I popped my hood to see a giant “circular weight” just chillen at the bottom of my engine bay like where all the covers are and I believed this is exactly what the same issue was
