Thanks. I used that puller but my 1 hook kept slipping. Instead I took each jaw off. put the jaw in the halfmoon holes sideways and rotated straight. ones all claws were in i reattached to the furthest holes so I could fit my puller in between the claws. puller bolt was then too short so just put a deep socket on the crankshaft side to give the bolt more reach. came off like butter.

thanks for the video!!! Man we went round and round trying to get this stupid thing off. So headed to Harbor Freight this morning. Picked up a set of cheap pullers. Grabbed the 6". It worked ok but kept slipping. I put grooves in the fingers. Game changer. Put a lip on each finger to grab and that made all the difference.

Thanks. I used that puller but my 1 hook kept slipping. Instead I took each jaw off. put the jaw in the halfmoon holes sideways and rotated 90degrees so it was straight. once all claws were in i reassembled the puller in place and to the furthest holes in the claw, so I could fit my puller in between the claws. puller bolt was then too short so just put a deep socket on the crankshaft side to give the bolt more reach. came off like butter.

How is it running after doing the fix? Kind of made me nervous to throw a new cam in there when the old cam lobe is all ate up. Thinking all that ground up material from the cam lobe was likely to have worked it’s way into the cam bearings somewhat. Son’s truck, ex wife’s money…. Decided to just get a new reman motor.

The truck now has 16k more miles since new cam. When I tore it down I inspected the cylinders and still had nice cross hatching and no lips. I have ran mobile 1 synthetic since day one. I changed out the oil pump and changed and flushed the oil 3 times after work. It’s running better and sounds better than when it was new. I guess I caught it before any damage. 3k total including the delete and tune.

How hard was it to get the bolt out?...was it reverse thread?
@Mimiandfriend Жыл бұрын
Easy if you have any kind of impact. A cheap Chicago electric will do. And no it’s not reversed threads

I'm in Butte Larose, St. Martin Parish. I'm 51 and just ordered my first detector, a Nokta Makro Simplex. I have some places in mind and hope to get permission. Until then, I'll be learning this new hobby and detector. Are there clubs here? I moved here from Denham Springs after the flood. We got hammered.
