I always appreciate when people are generous enough to share a skill online that they know so that other people can save money. I asked my husband to buy a new air filter so we can change it and he said it would be too hard to get to the spot where the filter is. I told him I thought he might be wrong. Since watching this video I know I am right. We are going to order a filter and do this. Thanks so much for posting this!

Thanks for putting up this video. I changed mine (it was in bad, bad shape). I paid $17 for the filter (Fram brand) and the change out took 3m. It was exactly how you showed. Much appreciated.

They charged me nearly $90 for this at my dealer! I bought the filter for less than $10 and did it myself moments ago. Took less than 5 min. Thanks!

They must have had quite a chuckle charging you for an hour's labor rate while drinking their coffee for 57 out of 60 minutes

Thank you so much for taking the time to put this video together, man! I could kiss you! I've been smelling must and exhaust with the cabin recirc on and I was like something isn't right. So I got a new filter and the old one was the original one that came with the car. I bought it used and it had 100,000km on it. The thing was filthy and covered with leaves. Thanks to you, I'm happy as a clam and breathing in clean air! It sucks it's falling to me as the 2nd owner to actually take care of it, but I love my car. You really made a difference in my life with this video and I thank you for that.

Brilliant! Great video & explanation. My glove compartment opened easily & dropped out of way, exposing the installed filter, that was IN UPSIDE DOWN FROM THE LAST TIME HONDA CHANGED IT!!! Hope something isn't screwed up because of that, or that I have been breathing in crap for several months!!! But you say, "Did it get installed correctly?", and they flip out that you dared ask, or question their expertise!!! (I took pictures!)

Thanks so much for such a great demo. I'm hoping it'll work on my 2013. The garage that did my inspection showed me my filthy one but wanted $42.99 to change it. Not too bad a price but much better just paying $15 for the filter....if I can do it!! LOL

This filter is not a good fit. Instead of making a new filter to fit new gen Honda they left it so it would still fit older gen too. You read the instructions about placing the filter in the tray, there is no tray in new gen Honda CRV's. When I called and asked, I was told I was placing it in the housing wrong. I placed it as you said, but K & N said to place it so the writing and logo are facing you directly as you put it in??

Wife commented above. Amazing to find this video since we have almost the exact same scenario with our 2014 CR-V. Thanks for such a clear instruction on replacing this cabin air filter. Had no idea they were now behind glove boxes.

@EricDIY8 жыл бұрын
+emt3225 I believe it would be the same as most cabin air filters are found behind the glove compartment and the 2014 and 2015 have little difference except for the engine

my good friend is buying a 2016 honda crv with 72,000 miles on it.. he is not a car guy at all so i will be doing the maintenance on this car for him... first thing im going to do is change the oil with full synthetic oil plus replace the oil filter with a wix oil filter... then i will change the transmission fluid and use honda transmission fluid only.. then i will replace the cars air filter and replace the cabin air filter.. its a front wheel drive only not awd so there is no differential fluid to change...

Informative and to the point. Beauty! (Maybe you should redo your video using an etch a sketch with rainbow colors and speak real slow so the morons who voted thumbs down can understand it better). This may help you geniuses... you'll get more out of watching a video like this if you actually own a car first, or at least have access to your daddy's. Oh, and major bonus points if it's a CRV (the kind Honda makes).
