can we determine if such pin is faulty by reading the voltage directly from the pin while imac is on? what kind of volts do these individual pin emit?

Your video shows an excellent way to repair the connector. However, when I removed the base connector about three of the pins broke off and went somewhere into the body. It was previously disconnected during a repair. Any advise on how to fix this? Thanks.

Hi thank you so much for this video. Where did you purchase the replacement connector? My cable is still fine but I am looking hard to find a proper connector

I followed your exact instructions. Unfortunately, 1 of the connector pad came off during the desoldering process. In your video you did mention about being careful not to remove the connector pads. How do I fix the connector pad that came off? If I can fix my connector pad that was removed, I'm able to fix my iMac. Thank you for the great video!

Thanks for this video!! I have a slight problem: broke off the left large pad. The rest of the connector is fine. Any idea where I can reattach what would be the left pad? Where does it go? :( I can't see the traces/can't find schematics.

It might be just the ground, so I don’t think it’s that important

Thank you very much for this great instructional video. Could you please let us know on what temperature did you set your iron on, during the removal of the old pins as well as the soldering of the new ones? Also, what diameter tin did you use? Was it rosin flux and isopropyl alcohol? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

Thanks for the video... I get it .. you should use the proper tools; unfortunately you didn't say what the proper tools are. I would wonder what the wattage, and temperature of your iron, what type and brand of flux, and what type and mix of your solder ... stiff like that... :-)
