The IAC valve, or idle air control valve, helps regulate a stable idle on your vehicle's engine. If the engine on your vehicle is idling rough or surging, you might need to replace the valve. This video shows you how to install a new idle air control valve on your 1998-2002 Honda Accord.

Thanks so much. I was able to fix mine because of your video. 2002 Accord V6 with 300,000 miles. Ran into a couple of snags trying to get some of the hoses disconnected. Amazon had the part for $25 BUT reviews were horrible so I bought it at Autozone for $104. The idle of my car was going up and down repeatedly between 1,500 - 2,500 and was erratic when driving to the point of it almost stalling out. Now it purrs. Once again, thanks!!!!!

Only note for anyone else attempting: I took the whole top of my airbox off with the hose bc the hose was locked up on there. Otherwise this will show you every single step!

I wish u had started the vehicle right after installation, and see how it reacts, most of the time when I replace one of these valves, the idle goes crazy for a few drivecicles

Love your video....very easy to follow. Mine is a 6th gen 02 Accord V6, and while I was trying to remove the throttle body from the intake manifold, it was frozen solid!!! The TB was found to have a lot those green corrosions at the interface that basically fused with the intake manifold!! Just like your video, I hit the throttle body with a rubber mallet many many times, but it still wouldn't come off. Any better ideas? Thanks

Try Throttle Position Sensor then MAP sensor replacement then. Check where the TB connects to the Manifold and make sure it’s tight with no leaks…. Look for bent hoses to and from the TB and manifold
