Good video, not great but good. Didn’t need to disconnect as much stuff as in the video. I wish I would have read the comments before I started. Torque value given should have been 8lbs, not 21lbs. I had to get all new bolts for the plenum. It’s done though and I saved a ton of money.

BEWARE !!! There is WRONG information in this video that can result in a very expensive repair bill. The torque value for the intake manifold collector is EIGHT ft lbs - NOT 21 !!!!! In addition, this guy hasn't done this before as he is removing things that don't need to be removed.

What part of the video actually shows the coils being replaced? I didn’t see that at all maybe I missed it lol seems like a lot of parts were removed that didn’t need to be. Yes the one bracket to get it out of your way but a bunch of other stuff didn’t have to be actually removed

Thank you for a great video. It helped me with my 2007 Xterra, plugs/coils/injectors project. One thing I wanted to correct. Your torque specs are wrong. You specify 2 steps of torq 5lbs/21/lbs for intake. You are right for the intake manifold, but this is not the intake manifold. This is the Plenum. The bolts and nuts should only be torqued to 8 ft/lbs!!!!!!! Again, great video, but I would correct the specified torq so people do not overtighten the Plenum. Thank you!

I think 21 ftlbs may be to much cause I just sheared one of my bolts. Wondering if I can run without one

You need to either edit this video for the tighten torq value (should be EIGHT ft lbs) - OR - take the whole video down. I ended up snapping #3 bolt because of your WRONG information.

The VQ40 is One of the most underrated V6 engines ever everything about it is great. Look up videos of it racing. Very durable. And Worth saving, and maybe even collecting a few extra ones now that they aren’t made anymore..

you can remove the coils without removing the air intake

You tightened the intake plenum bolts to 21 foot pounds. I am curious where you got that number from. My hanes repair manual for Frontier & Xterra 2005 thru 2014 says the intake plenum bolts should be torqued to 8 foot pounds (96 inch pounds).

He is flat out wrong on the 21 ft lbs. I have a busted plenum to prove it! Correct torque value is 8 ft lbs.

the number comes from the torqued values for the intake MANIFOLD - not the intake manifiold collector (plastic).

Doing this sucks if you are a short woman!!! Reaching the parts in the back by the firewall is a pain in the @$$ for me! I also dont have the power wrench and have to do it all by hand which takes extra time. ALSO… your torque is WRONG!!! When doing my tune up the Torque called for 8 Ft lbs.. I’m glad I didn’t follow your specs or id need new bolts!! Please correct this before you cost many more issues for others!
