I used a flare nut wrench to remove the distributor retaining bolt (I did an O-ring replacement). It was a PITA. Anyway, I can't stress enough how important it is to label things. Made the job so much easier, and I got the timing perfectly after putting the distributor back on.

Well yeah you added a helpful video but it doesnt explain how to set it making sure Cylinder 1 is at TDC to where the rotor should be pointing when sitting in the engine, to help those that have had a block sent to them to rebuild and install without a distributor

i tried replacing it, tightened the 15mm bolt down, started the car and the distributor popped out, when i removed the bolt the first time it didnt have the hold down, do i need to get one?, it also moves a lot

Yes, you need that plate

Yes, and that will cause backfiring

I have a doubt, where is cylinder 1 in that position, because if cylinder 1 is up, the distributor is pulling for cylinder 3

When looking from the trunk, Cylinder 1 on the distributor is the one closest to cylinder 5 on the engine.
