It isn’t impossible but I actually tried and couldn’t, even if the pins are the same and the lanes are the same as 40p and 4 lanes for example you have to consider the bandwidth difference of the eDP cable capability to transfer data. Also if the LCD is from another maker you also have to consider the pin separation, like 4mm or 5mm. Honestly you’ll do a favor to yourself buying the same monitor. But, if you change the eDP cable like the man on the video did and is compatible with the motherboard and can handle 1440p …

Mate I have the same problem, but in my case it's bother me... That is back lighting, I think plastic is to tight on that corner... Also thinking to send to the service
