Great tutorial. Thanks! I had one minor issue: with the new screen installed, I noticed the two bottom corners and some areas on the bottom edge weren't seated and "clicked" into the clips, and finger pressure wouldn't do it. I was able to use a small pair of needle-nose pliers to *carefully* squeeze the screen and rear cover together (near the edge), and they snapped right into place. You may want to wrap the needle-nose jaws in some tape to prevent marring the plastic.

Great video and helped me fix my student's laptop! Much easier than I thought and no tools required except for the pick - which was included in the replacement I ordered from Amazon and was the same as used in this video. Thank you sir!

Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial!!! I was able to fix my pavilion myself at home and I am so thankful. This video helped me save so much money. I didn’t have a guitar pick so I ended up having to use a credit card. The plastic one I was using was way too flimsy and ended up using my metal Apple Card. This kind of put some dents in the metal siding of the laptop but definitely worth it! My screen looks brand new! Thanks again

Great video! I noticed there was metal strips that came with our new screen and old metal strips as well, did not know to remove the old metal pieces, screen fit pretty well, I am scared to snap it in too hard on the side from prior bad experiences! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Metal Strips? This model should have any metal rails. Maybe googles pics and link them here to show us what you mean.

This is a great video thanks. Can I swap a working touchscreen straight into another x360. I have 2 laptops one screen cracked the other working perfectly

Yes I would switch the entire assembly. Hinges, cables and all. Just make sure battery is disconnected prior to unplugging and plugging in screen. Just take out hinge screws and a few connectors and that's all!

Where do you recommend ordering a replacement screen from, my wife has this exact laptop and the glass broke, thankfully it still works. Great video BTW.
@computerspecialist85332 жыл бұрын
In terms of price, your best bet depending on location will likely be eBay. IIRC most for this model are aftermarket new, but generally if you can get a genuine LCD or entire screen assembly that may be better long term.
@IkaikaKahoano3 ай бұрын
You never took off the screen protector. I wanted to know if your replacement has the HP logo on the bottom of the digitizer glass. I just got one for my 2017 HP laptop on eBay from China. The listing says it's "a genuine HP spare", however the original is an LG display with the HP logo on the bottom center of the glass. The replacement I received is a BOE with no logo (just a circle) where the HP logo should be. What do you think?
@computerspecialist85333 ай бұрын
Yeah most our customers want the screen protector on when they pickup to see its new 😂. So in my dealings when they come from china they are "knock-offs" but some are pretty descent. Sometimes its hard to get a genuine one also! You will be able to tell by the picture quality! If bad return it!

I have this same model and I have no cracks in the glass, but vertical lines of dead pixels on the screen... Could it be an issue with the connecting cables on the screen? Could opening it and checking the connecting cables potentially fix it?
@computerspecialist8533 Жыл бұрын
Vertical lines are most likely physical damage and not anything with the connector, but it couldn't hurt to give it a try and reseat the cable.

Thank you so much! Your instructions worked perfectly but I can’t seem to snap the screen all the way in to where I hear clicks all the way around? I purchased the exact one you used from eBay so I know it’s the correct one. I tried using plyers wrapped in cloth but afraid to squeeze too hard and also tried applying top pressure to it. Can’t seem to get them clicked in 😑
@computerspecialist85338 ай бұрын
Yeah you definitely shouldn't need too much pressure to require any tools other than your fingers. It's possible that one of the plastic clips is bent on the screen which could be preventing it from snapping in. You may have to take the screen out again and just check to make sure the clip in that area is not smushed down...

Can you tell me how to tuck in the bottom clips of the screen as I am unable to do it
@computerspecialist85332 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the plastic clips on the surrounding bezel or the bottom metal mounts on the screen itself? If the bottom plastic clips aren't clipping check to make sure clips aren't bent on both sides and no wires are blocking. If its metal clips on the actual screen, screen is most likely the wrong one but if it works and physically fits (except tabs) you can cut (dremel, be careful) them off.

Thank you! Wow that adhesive placement is ridiculous. Easy to damage the screen if you need to replace something like the hinge units :/

Yep! That's probably why they designed it that way unfortunately.

Hello does this video work for 14m-dw0013dx? And if it does where is a good place to get replacement screens
@computerspecialist85332 жыл бұрын
Yep, this will also apply for the 14m-dw0013dx and in-fact any 14m-dwXXXX model. Best source of screens at a reasonable price would be eBay. Sometimes it may be easier to find someone selling the entire LCD assembly, otherwise as in this video, replacing the LCD panel may be more cost effective. As of today it looks like the cheapest way is the LCD panel route which can be purchased here: www.ebay.com/itm/374106352219 ($144)

can i replace only the touch glass, mine is screen good only glass cracked
@computerspecialist85332 жыл бұрын
Technically you can. However it requires special tools (that use a lot of heat) to un-fuse the digitizer from the LCD. It is not really worth the risk and time to do just the glass nor is it really cost effective unfortunately.
@computerspecialist85332 жыл бұрын
You technically can, but since its a fused screen, its very hard to separate without damaging the screen itself! It is only a few $$ more to replace everything and will guarantee everything works when done. We did some fused screens the past and the digitizer was never the same etc. Here is a link to the entire screen. Digitizers are usually $80 and are aftermarket so they never work as good! www.ebay.com/itm/293802934210

I don't see a way to disconnect the battery. Is that required?
@computerspecialist85333 ай бұрын
Just unscrew the few screws on the battery and the entire batter pulls out. So it is required if your new to this kin of repair. Example, if you pull the LCD cable out on a angel you can burn it out. Suppose to pull straight out!
