This video is a life saver. It's hard to believe it came along right when I was planning my front end suspension rebuild. It's underway now and going well. Decided to replace the old I-bolts for the control arms with grade 8 from lowes. Hopefully this is a good idea. The old ones were rusty af

If you need a zerk on the sway bar link, you have to put it on first as it is a 45 degree offset and will not screw on if you put the link on first. good vid!

02:12 I noticed that the brake lines and the brackets are renewed. The bracket seems to help prevent abrasion. Could you please provide the link where I can purchase the bracket from?

Was wondering if you know if a 2003 dodge dakota 2wd, steering knuckle with 2piston caliper, will be interchangeable with a 2004 dodge dakota 2wd Steering Knuckle with 1 piston caliper. My truck is the 03 dakota 2wd, I have a parts truck 04 dakota 2wd. Are the knuckles interchangeable?

Can I just remove the bolt holding the rack and pinion up on the side that I'm working on and loosen the other side so the rack and pinion will lower down enough to remove that bolt? I really don't want to mess with removing the rack and pinion boot and taking it apart to get that bolt out

Where did you find the torque specs at?

Got lucky on the control arm bolts, mine were seized on to the steel insert in the bushing and no amount of anything could unseize it. Had to cut it off with a grinder.

Only complaint is. Just turn the wheel so the giant part of the inner tie rod is not in the way

It didn't look like she preloaded the control arm bushings? I couldn't tell. The editing made it look like she did not. My understanding is that you always preload control arm bushings.

Strange.... Mine's a 2003 and doesnt have a spring for front suspension, also, the lower control arm is connected to a rod that goes under the middle transversal bar that's holding the truck's middle frame and i'm really worried about how i'm going to do with all that in the way...

That's a torsion bar spring, and I'm not sure how the lower A-arm job is done with that. Looking for that DIY brought me here! The search continues...

i bet if you unbolted the rack and pinion, you could have gotten enough space to remove that bolt.

Only difference on my 99 dakota 5.2l v8 2wd is I have a wire coming from the knuckle that is attached to my wiring harness..problem is I ripped it out on accident right now and don't know what the wire is or could have been for? Anyone else have a wire coming from the back of their knuckle?
@robertn64893 жыл бұрын
More than likely it's a ABS sensor lead.
