Young lady you help me so much on my truck. You are the best you explain as you go. I tried to order a rack n pinion kit from TRQ but couldn't find it . Thanks for sharing be safe

Absolutely flawless tutorial! Perfection itself!! The lady explained every single step in a way that I could easily understand, and I could see everything. I'm no mechanic, but after watching this, I repaired my Durango without issue. Instead of paying several hundreds of dollars for a mechanic, I paid $70 for the parts to replace both sides.

Excellent job. One of the better videos I have seen. The narration, including the pointers / tricks of the trade, were spot on. Sure it's always harder laying on your back in the garage, but it's nice to know what I'm supposed to do next.

This is an excellent video on how to STRIP the flats on the inner tie rod end. Get the correct tool. Avail to borrow at any auto parts store for just the cost of a deposit.

Actual wrench size is a 1 7/16 by the way. I had one luckily, and also.. same wrench can be used for the fan clutch nut that fit over the water pump pulley shaft on the 3.9l magnums (probably on many 5.2l and 5.9l mags, though, too). Handy crescent wrench for these trucks.

When does this need to be replaced? What are the symptoms of failure? The old part looked okay.
@TRQ3 жыл бұрын
+Mark Easley Normal wear and tear can cause a tie rod to fail; driving hazards like potholes and accidents can also cause damage to a tie rod. If a tie rod becomes damaged and fails, the effects can range from mild (premature tire wear) to extreme (loss of vehicle control).

Well in my case, somewhat uneasy steering and excessive wear on the outer edge of the front tires all of a sudden. Went to check the problem by Jacking it up and wiggling the wheels and everything was solid besides the inner tie rod ends which moved all over the place.
