Hello great video by the way fantastic step by step guide even for us women to follow and making simple for us women so we can do this repair our selfs .... my indesit tumble dyer there isnt much drum movement so im wondering will i have to replace the shaft at all last time all i had to do was replace the bearings ? as it was making a whistling sound now its doing it again a year later so would you adise i replace shaft ? this time round even though there is NO drum movement when rocking it side to side seems to be pretty solid theres a little movement but not a lot advice please ??
@eSpares8 жыл бұрын
Hi Frances, thanks for the comments. The belt on your dryer pulls the drum firmly down so you will not feel any movement. Look at the rear bearing by taking the bearing cover off. As the bearing wears the shaft wears through turning the round hole oval and eventually the shaft is cut on the rear panel. If only the bearing is worn replace that but do check the shaft for signs of damage and replace if any damage found.

great videos. I have a squeeking noise on my hotpoint tcfs93bgp and pretty sure it's the jockey wheel but thought I would check the drum support wheels whilst the sides were off. trouble is, I can only see one (right hand side). similar mount on left hand side but no wheel. is this normal guys or is mine missing a wheel?
@eSpares7 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, looking at the exploded diagram for this model it does appear to have only one drum support wheel. Many Hotpoint models have used plastic sliders instead of wheels but if the wheel is on the motor side of the drum it can help prevent the drum pulling over and wearing the sliders on one side.

Hi Matt. Our Indesit IDC 85 dryer has worn away the drum shaft as described. It has also cut through the bearing and started to then cut into the rear panel! .....Not good! Can you let me know if you supply both the shaft kit and the bearing kit? (Ours looks like the brass bearing in your video (on the right, new type) Thanks :-)
@eSpares9 жыл бұрын
+Andy Ward The kits we supply have both the shaft and the bearing as well as the most commonly wearing parts that we recommend to be replaced.If your dryer has three screw heads showing in the centre of the drum kit: www.espares.co.uk/product/es546701 is suitable. If there are no screws showing you will require a kit specifically for the riveted type drum shafts www.espares.co.uk/product/es1672507 order the correct type for your dryer.

Could you post the link for how to remove drum from the machine please. It's a SUTCD97B6GM Hotpoint condenser dryer.
@eSpares4 жыл бұрын
Hi BJThatcher07, we do not currently have a video on a Hotpoint dryer taking out the drum, you will need to take the top and side panels off before removing the back panel which will give you access to the drum.

You can also fit the old style kit onto the new drum once you’ve removed the fixed “flange”

Hi Matt i have a hotpoint TL11P tumble dryer how can i tell which kit i would need with out striping down the dryer down ? and i would also like to replace the seals
@eSpares10 жыл бұрын
Hi ksony68, the simple way to tell is just look at the centre of the drum when the door is open. If there are three screw heads showing it will use the older type of shaft kit, No screws means it has a 'New style' welded shaft kit.

is there a way to know which drum shaft kit you need without taking the machine apart?
@eSpares5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah thanks for the question. You will need to view the back of the drum to find out your drum style and ensure you are ordering the correct kit.
