Agreed, I'll be replacing mine pretty soon. I will be relocating the sending unit as GM should have with www.dpecorvettes.com/oil-pressure-relocation.html. 1A Auto Parts should put a kit together of their own. I would have bought it from you guys ;)

I replaced the oil pressure sensor in my 2003 C5 (LS1) without removing any parts or drilling any holes. It took about 2 hours of second guessing my decision. I installed an extension hose that allowed me to relocate the sensor up to where I can get to it. That way, when the sensor fails again (and it will), it will be a 2 minute job instead of 2 hours.

good video .you can remove the fuel rail with the intake as one assembly .when removing the back 2 bolts ,use some small rubber tubing 1 " long and slit it length wise .slip the rubber tubing around the bolts to hold the bolts up when sliding the intake out .the metal brackets at the back of the intake are for installation at the factory ,you don't need to reinstall them .then use the little rubber tubing to hold the back 2 bolts up for installation .remove the intake cover ,it is for sound deadening and looks ,it serves no mechanical purpose,and gets in the way of the intake R&R

Excellent job explaining everything... very informative video. As Robert mentioned.. why would you put a sensor in a place that requires 1000.00 labor for a part 30.00 part. Ref: AC Delco 12677836 GM Original Equipment Engine Oil Pressure Sensor.

Easier way is to do it like I did on my last C5 ...no need to remove fuel lines...intake manifold etc .. tricky but safe

If the Oil Pressure Sensor is defective, would this display a 0 reading on the Oil Pressure Gauge and XXXX on the DIC? In addition, would this cause the fans to stay on all the time?

Yes, 0 on gauge and XXXX on DIC. Wouldn't cause fan to stay on, at least it didn't on my Vette.

Kinda dumb. I did this today to a 08 an took me 20 mins an did not cut or remove anything but the sensor. Do yourself a favor an don’t do all this.

Been looking for an alternative myself, but all I could find was for a C5, cutting a hole in the cowl next to the windshield wiper for direct access to the sensor. Would rather not cut holes, and not sure it's the same on a C6. Any guidance you might have would be greatly appreciated!
