I just watched this video because I'm getting ready to uninstall an older frigidaire otr microwave to install a new frigidaire otr microwave. This guy made it look so easy, I think my hubby and I should be able to pull it off. Wish me luck!

Nice! I am guessing it was a fuse inside the microwave?

I couldn't get to the screw over the control panel to access the fuse. I had to pull my microwave out a little to access it. You were right when you told us to be careful because of how the microwave comes out. I barely caught it when it dropped. Lol

I have this microwave.... Can you install the blower too the back..... And also did all the part come in the box mine is up already but not vented at all.... Don't have the blower flap unless it's screwed in the microwave

I don't remember where the backdraft damper was located when I unboxed the microwave. You can exhaust the vent out of the rear by rotating the motor and removing the two rectangular knock outs on the back side. I don't know if they have changed the installation book but the rear exhaust is on page 18. Good luck with your install.

In case you need the flapper, here is the part number for the flapper adapter: 5304509485 and the flapper part number is 5304509486.

Sorry to bother you.. Wanted to ask another question about about the Microwave.... Do you think it has enough cfm to push the air about 10-14 feet to out the house... The fan does not seem that strong... The microwave was bought and installed on my house when they built it 4 years ago... The clown builders didn't install any ventilation so Im trying to add it now without destroying my kitchen.... So I'm thinking about add a in line duct fan do you this that will help even more???

@@TheMasterkiller24 I have never seen an inline fan connected to a kitchen fan. There is a worksheet on page 15 of the manual where you can figure out if the air flow will work based on the types of duct fittings you use to vent outside. I attached a link in an earlier comment for the manual if you need it.

Good video. Came here to see how to remove the Frigidaire OTR microwave. Removed the bolts on top, but it won't budge an inch. Ideas?

Is there tape or screws connected to the vent ducting which might be holding it up? Maybe check for some trim pieces the cabinet installer may have added? That is all I can think of at the moment. 🤔

Also if the venting is not pushed up a little bit, it could hold the microwave from rocking down.

@@HamiltonServices530 thank you. Good tip. The housebuilders messed up the vent dimensions so they just fixed it like Russian cosmonauts... With extra duct tape... Tons of it... Had to force the microwave down with my own weight! Appreciate the quick response

You make it look too easy. Just curious how well does the microwave fan suck up the smoke from cooking on the stove top. I found out by just taping off that top vent that sticks out past the cabinet just above the microwave door helps the suction on the bottom filter vents a little bit better.

I will have to try that trick. I have yet to find a microwave hood that actually has a good fan. I was thinking about removing the backdraft damper to see if there is an improvement.
