hello i have a 2006 nissan altima 2.5 S 4 cylinder i can’t find a video for replaceing an engine coolant temperature sensor i’m trying to learn how to change it because the temperature gauge reads cold and i know the car is warmed up i thougtht it was the thermostats and bought both of them but i was told it was the coolant temperature sensor and that does make sense i’m trying to restore my car and get running like it should your videos have helped me so much thank you

Replaced the radiator today. Now the temperature gauge flunctuates from middle to hot back to middle again. Is there air in there? I had no issues before install with overheating

Question probably a stupid one, but the radiator I bought came with the 2 little tubes with bolts that are for the 2 lower hoses they won’t screw on right like they should and one of them looks stripped and I’m figuring yes this is a problem, do I now have to buy another radiator I rigged it a little but the one looks like it can fall and then my transmission fluid will be all over, I’m extremely pissed and don’t know what to do, someone help can I rigged this without a problem?
@Archie_Espina9 жыл бұрын
just replaced both the upper and lower radiator hose on my 2005 Altima and was wondering do I need to bleed it for air bubbles? I can't seem to find the bleeder...
@1AAuto9 жыл бұрын
HI Archie, What you can do is (when the vehicle is cold) remove the radiator cap, go inside the car and blast the heat, start the car and let it warm up. Do not rev the motor up, watch the fluid level in the radiator and top it off if it drops. Once it's topped off, put the radiator cap back on, and fill the radiator overflow bottle to it's recommended level. You should be okay after that. Remember to also wear safety glasses. Hope this helps you out, have a great day, 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

What are those plastic clips on the top cover called? Mine is missing a few..
@1AAuto7 жыл бұрын
+Donny King They are just retaining clips for the plastic panel. If you need more the best thing is to bring one down to a local auto part store and match them up with what they have available. If you need a specific part number you will have to contact a Nissan dealership to get that info.

BTW, I made a mistake that I didn't realize that the two small hoses at the bottom are transmission hoses. I ended up had extra hassle to refill transmission fluid at the end, as I drained them into a separate pan without hanging them high from draining when detached them from radiator. Just a note to viewers that you should do the same as the video did by hanging the two small hoses high to prevent the transmission fluid draining.

I did this slightly differently and disconnected the coolant and ATF hoses from the engine side instead of from the radiator. I removed the fan wiring as shown, but did not remove the fan assembly from the radiator. I removed the radiator and fan assembly from the car as one piece and could then work on transferring the fan assembly and hoses from the old to the new radiator without obstruction. Just do one hose at a time so that you remember their placement and orientation. Mechanics must have lifts in order to do much of their work and thus they often assume that owners can work under their car, but even with jacks it's difficult to get under such low cars, so I left the air dam in place and did not need to do anything under the car except to open the drain plug on the old radiator and slide a catch pan underneath. I covered the bibs coming from the transmission with self-made hoses that had their ends folder over and zip-tied back to themselves to create an effective seal. Only the passenger-side bib actually seemed to have fluid coming out, but the cover stopped it from leaking and I lost no measurable amount of fluid. The built-in transmission oil cooler adds complexity to the job as I did not realize it was there until unboxing the new radiator, but it was not difficult to deal with provided that you are ready to attach the hose ends upward where fluid cannot come out or to block the bibs on which side you decide to detach the hoses from.

Hi guys. I have a 2006 Nissan Altima. Wanted to replace upper and lower hoses, your video was the closest to my year model I could find. Looks like on the 2006 2.5L they have recessed the radiator connections for the upper. It's now a two hose system, and the short hose that goes from the fill/cap assembly is a bear to get to. This job looks like it is going to be a pain in the rear for any do-it-yourselfer. Great Job Nissan!!!
