Thank you so much I just finished my 03 and it worked out perfect and saved alot of time bending that bracket back instead of taking the whole front of the santa fe off, I was working against the snow today and I just beat it so now we ready for the winter weather.... one tip I have on the santa fe is when I needed new tires I just went to the junkyard and took the spare off the bottom of a few santa fe s instead of buying a brand new set of 4 I got brand new bf goodrich with the rim for $150

great video, you gave me the confidence to try it myself. Everything went as planned and expected. I chose to remove the bumper so I could remove that vertical piece holding the hood latch without bending it. Your step by step was perfect. It is amazing how they allow almost zero extra clearance to access everything.

Thanks for the vid. Man I wish the 3.5 had that much room to work in.. The bolts mid way down the side brackets are all but impossible to get out.

My transmission does not want to go in gear after this. It did lose some fluid?
@TweekerDan1984 Жыл бұрын
Have you topped off the fluid since you had this issue?

@@TweekerDan1984 no I will tomorrow. Thank you.

Great Video Dan. Question, when you removed the transmission cooler lines did you catch the fluid or can you pinch the lines? and when topping up does that show on the tranny dip stick?
@TweekerDan19845 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊 Only the smallest amount of transmission fluid leaked out (-1/4 cup). I usually just pinch the lines when possible. With the emergency brake engaged, topping off the automatic transmission fluid while the vehicle is running and in neutral is one of the most accurate methods. A pint measures about an inch on the dip stick so be sure not to overfill.

I need to replace the copper colored pipe at the inside bottom of the radiator that has the 90 degree bend at one end, and C shaped curve at the other. Has anyone attempted this? Not even the dealer has a part #. I don't want to buy the whole radiator. If you've done so what size pipe, connectors, and pipe type, (aluminum, copper, etc.). Thanks.
@TweekerDan19844 жыл бұрын
It has been a while since I did this but if you are able to remove the pipe and fitting, You could possibly make your own fitting if you use a flaring tool, which can be fairly inexpensive. If you have a hydraulic shop near by they may be able to make one for you. Our local shop that can do these custom fittings at a great price is called Industrial Hydraulics. Hope that helps.
@TweekerDan19844 жыл бұрын
Also the fittings are usually brass and the lines come in a variety of types of metal. Local shops typically have stock of these lines which you can carefully bend and form to what works for you.
@davidt90394 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I will probably have someone do that kind of work for me, since I'm not sure about getting the fittings installed and leak free. If it comes to more than the cost of a new radiator, $160, which I can install myself, I'll probably do that. It's an old vehicle and would probably benefit from a new radiator. Any idea on the cost of replacing just the tube?

Oh one other Question? are the rads identical from01-07 for engine size?
@TweekerDan19845 жыл бұрын
I do not believe they are identical for different engines.
@mkchamp96453 жыл бұрын
They are not I just did a 2007 the other day, 01-07 definitely not the same...

Do I need one of those rad funnels or can I just use a regular one ?
@TweekerDan19845 жыл бұрын
A regular funnel is fine 👍 this style just helps with allowing air to exit the system and also helps prevent overflow.
@jamesherzog85734 жыл бұрын
How did you get the transmission lines apart if you dont have the tool ?
@TweekerDan19844 жыл бұрын
I remember just using two open end wrenches, if their are quick disconnects the tool can be purchased for less then $20 at the local parts store. My apologies for not showing that portion.

Bend that low pressure AC line out of the way next time it'll bend right back into place
