New Brake Pad & Rotor Kit from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ABFS02754
This video shows you how to install rear brake pads and rotors on your 2011-2016 Hyundai Elantra. Brake pads wear out over time, much like tires, and need replacing, on average, every 50,000 miles, with variations depending on driving habits and environment. Brake rotors may also need to be replaced if they are warped or grooved. Often, it’s safer and more cost effective to replace pads and rotors at the same time. Squealing or grinding noises, or wheel vibration are all symptoms of worn brakes.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2011 Hyundai Elantra
2012 Hyundai Elantra
2013 Hyundai Elantra
2014 Hyundai Elantra
2015 Hyundai Elantra
2016 Hyundai Elantra

Most thorough brake job cleaning I’ve ever seen. If I thought my mechanic was actually doing all this I might be more willing to pay for the work to be done.

Ive been watching alot of videos on brakes lately. Will be doing my first brake job soon. Have to change the rear rotors, calipers, and pads. Ive bought all the tools and parts. Think i need a couple odds and ends, but the major stuff is all purchased. Im a bit nervous about doing it but its the only way to learn. I have a 2012 elantra. Thanks for the video

Yes I have a 2012 elantra and you really need that special tool to close the cylinder in your caliper .....wish I knew that before.

Fun fact, when you put the rotor back on, you can forget about the 2 little screws. They are there from the factory as part of the manufacturing process, but after that serve no real purpose. You will thank yourself the next time you do your brakes

Torque spec for the guide bolt is max 23ft-lb, 50 is way too much. Really should edit the video and at least have some text overlay to correct this mistake. Otherwise great video.

Should I really use red loctite? I don’t have an impact wrench for changing them again later…

A dab of anti-seize or blue Loctite would be sufficient. Red Loctite is going to be a pain for the next guy to remove
