Thank you, great audio it was good to hear "you" where a lot of videos make that assumption...,you talked and explained each step with tools required and the specifications during the procedure. Most appreciate your efforts.

Thanks for step by step instructions. Didn't have to worry for any thing. Video was really great. But my T40 star bit got stuck in the bolt. Bolt was out but the bit wouldn't get lose. I had to heat the bolt and use vise to get the bit out. When installing the bolts back for tightening I use T35 star bit. It worked fine.

Roberto how do you like the 2006 E350 Im looking to buy one. so Im trying to figure out what type of problems I might have i found this sight that list all the recalls and the problem ppl were complaining about and wanted to compare. Thanks
@robertoquijandria4 жыл бұрын
s static Hello, in sure you’ve made a decision by now and in sorry for the late reply. The w211 is a great car but does have some major issues that could turn you away from buying one. First is the intake manifold. The internals of the intake were made out of plastic which would make the flaps in the intake manifold break off in which you would have to replace the whole intake manifold. I replaced the one on my car with a friend that’s a technician and it’s pretty hard to do without having someone there to help you. Next is the fuel tank. I’m not too sure if the fuel level sensor craps out on these things but a few years ago my fuel gauge stopped working and left me stranded one day (ran out of gas because the fuel level showed half a tank and the car ran out of gas). I took it to the dealership and they told me there was a recall on the fuel tank and the whole fuel take was replaced under warranty which I think came with a new fuel pump as well. And last but not least, the Balance Shaft. I can’t remember exactly what the balance shaft does but it was by far the most expensive repair and if your car needs it and you can’t afford it you’re better off selling the car. The balance shaft is located in the middle of the engine and the engine has to be taken out of the car and torn apart to get it out and replaced. If you take it to the dealership you’re gonna pay an arm and a leg mainly because of labor (roughly $10,000 or more) to have it replaced. Luckily for me my friend that’s a tech helped me out and I ended up paying a couple grand for the repair instead of the full price. That being said I’d look at the service history on the car and see if any of these major issues have already been replaced (preferably replaced at a MB dealership). The choice is yours in terms of buying one of these cars but I hope this helps. Sorry for replying so late!

Roberto I thought the 2006 E350 Mercedes required the SBC brake system to be shut down before you could work on the brakes?
@davejohnson38606 жыл бұрын
Richard Harris ...yes your correct! The SBC is still on, but it seems like he waited for system to " sleep" before install. Disconnect pwr to sbc is best!
@TheRds7976 жыл бұрын
Dave Johnson how would you disconnect power to the SBC? Or how to make it "sleep"

What can I use if I don’t have a brake pad spreader tool???
@robertoquijandria2 жыл бұрын
You could use a c-clamp to press the depress the brake piston back into the caliper. Good luck!
@CopybutNotPaste3 жыл бұрын
How did you go about the SBC, did you have to disable it before removing?
@robertoquijandria3 жыл бұрын
No, just left the battery unplugged while working on the car
@MrKingNica3 жыл бұрын
Aren’t you supposed to open the container that holds the brake fluid being that you’re compressing the brakes?
@robertoquijandria3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can also do that! I was able to compress my brakes far enough apart to not have to do that. Taking off the cap also means that you’ll have some brake fluid come out of the brake cylinder so if you take the cap off make sure to take some brake fluid out first so it won’t pour out when you compress the brakes and make a mess. Good luck!

The rotor is very hard to remove because the parking brake shoe is holding the disc from inside. Does is need to adjust the shoe by turning the round metal piece before release the disc?
@robertoquijandria3 жыл бұрын
If the inner brake pad is stuck you might have to pry the brake pad against the brake piston. Doing so releases a little bit of pressure from the brake piston and should give you enough room to remove the pad. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
@JJ-vm3ky3 жыл бұрын
@@robertoquijandria I mean the pad is easy to removed.... I was talking about when you removed the rear rotor, the parking brake shoe will holding the rotor and will be hard to remove...
