I enjoyed the video. I have a 2013 Volvo S80. I watched your video to replace the rear brake pads and I appreciate your explanation. I replaced my Kia before so I don't think it would be difficult to replace the Volvo brake pads, but I saw in your video that you have a small computer to check them, and I don't have one. Can I just replace the pads?

On the 2013 you probably don’t need it unless you have an electronic parking brake.

Congratulations for the explanatory video. Bravo! But I would like to ask you a question: the piston that needs to be moved back, being the rear one, should also be rotated. Or not?🤔

No, you shouldn’t have to rotate it. Just using a standard caliper compressor should work fine. The ones you rotate are if you have parking brake cables, going to the caliper.

@@AndyTheXTech Yet you can clearly see that the piston has two cuts at the end and a pin that would make one think of the use of a special backstop... If in doubt, I will purchase a disc adapter set. The cost is not prohibitive and it is better not to risk it. Thank you very much.

I really appreciate your tutorials! I was wondering if you know of any new cars that are easier for someone without a lot of car repair experience to work on?
@AndyTheXTech5 ай бұрын
That’s a good question. I know older Chevys / GM vehicles and the like VW and older BMWs but I have to think about the newer ones. It seams like everything new is harder to work on. Toyota are very reliable so you don’t need to do much to them but in my opinion when they do break it’s not that easy to work on.
