I like your videos because you literally give step by step details. Thats what we need to be able to do it on our own. Thank you.

Dude, that's an awesome video. I'm not a mechanic but I'm not a moron either. Your video was very helpful and easy to understand and made it much easier for me to do the job myself, which I did and it turned out great!

Just before the new rotor goes on, the area around the wheel studs must be cleaned spotless and preferably copper greased to prevent it seizing in future.. Any pieces of dirt between the rotor and the mounting face will cause the rotor not sit true and cause DTV (disc thickness variation) when the pad wears one area and also warps it creating the pedal pulsing that a lot are familiar with. To take this to its ultimate level that some shops do (mine!) is install a dial gauge and runout should not exceed 2 to 5 thousandths of an inch. According to latest statistics, about 90% of rotors returned faulty are like that because of incorrect fitting. Hope this helps.

doing my friends camaro tmrw all around. if I'm just doing the pads can i get away with not taking the calipers off and just knocking the pins out? do you think the Pistons will get in the way? is there a way to push them in with the calipers still on without scratching the rotors or tearing the boots? just curious because we're gonna be short on time. thanks in advance.

Thanks bro, this was really helpful. However, the 2015 RS didn't have pins, just bolts similar to the front. It was pretty easy to change out.

thanks for the vids on the brakes, Klowny. About to do all 4 corners on my 2012 SS for the first time and it looks like this is going to be much easier with the brembo calipers being top-loaders.

Great video!! You make it look easy. It appears the procedure is the same for front and back..right?. Is this the same for an SS? Can I just replace the pads without removing the rotors? I don't think I need to do anything to the rotors.
@klowny19696 жыл бұрын
Steven Patrick should be the same..u can replace just the pads if the rotors are good

Jose Cazares couple things u can do..spray wd40 into the lug holes..and whack it really hard with a sledge on the face of the rotor..can use heat..can also put bolts through the caliper holes and try pushing the rotor off

klowny1969 what can of bolts can I use to pop it off from the back?
@klowny19698 жыл бұрын
Jose Cazares use thick bolts..through the caliper mounting holes..but dont use too much tension..u might crack the ears..just enough tension, and hammer it at the same time
