I received an error message. Retried installing several times, tried holding reset button. It’s a GE filter. Any suggestions?

@@SGoldenMath Have you tried unplugging and plugging the refrigerator to reset? Or, it could be a bad filter. But before replacing again, I would call GE as well.

Great how to demo on changing the GE fridge water filter cartridge John! Nice and convenient to change when the filter compartment is right inside the door. The initial dark colored water must be some of the charcoal being flushed from the new filter. Have a great weekend! 👍

Some reason my water smells horrible after changing the filter. We’ve ran many gallons through with no change. Definitely a OEM as it was purchased from GE.

Where did you get your filter because the one i bought from home depot look different at the head. It is a genuine ge xwfe filter but when i install it, it gives an error message.
