@@ZealousChuck I modded it a long time ago 👍 What happened was my son stomped on it, and at first, the screen didn't shatter, it just lost most of the red and green colours, so it was overly blue... But not even 2 weeks after that, he broke the screen completely so that it wouldn't even power on. I waited almost 3 months for the replacement screen with module to arrive... This time my son has his own Switch Lite, and is barred from the Vita until he's older. I have a launch day Vita, and a launch day PSP, plus a box with another 15 or so various generation PSPs in various working orders. I used to repair them for a living, but I've never had the need, or the balls to open up the Vita until my son broke it, and your video is easily the best teardown, replace and reconstruct video on KZbin. I only needed to pause the fast motion sections near the end to make sure I was putting the right pieces back the right way around. The rest was easy 😃 Thank you very much again for your video Chuck!

I also did repair psp's all sorts and sell but now I am just enjoyin it. Ps vita has only value when it is modded..well i mean at least u can have some fun with it ,when sony did gave up long time ago and without it it s really pain in a ass. I already bought 2 switches normal ones and I ve modded the unpatched one..i think i ll buy lite as well 😉👍

Your guide helped a lot however i seemed to have forgotton to move what LOOKS like thermal pads over from the old screen to the new one (IF those were thermal pads} im going to have to take it apart again and correct that. At 6:19 you can see 4 pads to the right of the big ribbon cable.

You mean like the plastic piece with the ribbon connector? That holds there just with some glue. Take it off same way like you did with the plastic piece under the shoulder buttons👍 just push some card underneath it to let it free and transfer it on your new screen 👍

The quality is good frame seems same and screen is not oled but lcd...however there is many different sellers and price ranges u can choose from. I ve choosen almost the cheapest one and I am.happy with it. I ve been also comparing it with one cheap screen replacement that I ve bought and it is much better...contrast, colours and it is also bright 👍

The frame from the screen? Yes it is possible but it is easy to crack the glass. You need to heat it up first then carefully separate frame from screen. But I wouldn't recommend doing unless u r fine with messing the screen

It is pretty easy and straightforward process bro. Just dont rush it and go step by step and you will be absolutely fine 👍 when i compare it with 3ds that one is really pain in the ass mostly because of the hinge but ps vita is just cross head screws and plastic clips

Hi thanks much appreciated. Well if you can hear the sound coming out of it and you know it is switched on but u cannot see anything than there is high chance of the screen being gone. But first I would try to open it up and check all the connections in case it is just some bad one. If everything is correctly connected but the issue is same I would order new screen 👍

Did u plug all the cables back in correctly when u was assembling it? If so then I am not sure I think I would try to restore default settings or something in that emergency menu that comes up when u hold power button for like 15sec

No it doesnt factory reset it bro. You re changing the lcd not some chip inside. And besides you can stil simply copy the pictures beforehand when u r worried

No mate nothing will change. As long as you switch off vita first of course..but I guess even if u would unplug battery while it is running it ll be fine😀 when u have hencore u ll just need to run it after reboot and if u use henkaku enso then u dont need to do anything

Maybe you didn't plug the ribbon cable fully in from the main side of motherboard....the ps button is on the left side of the board so if it was working before it has to be working now unless u damaged something or sth similar

You just need to Disassemble your vita and check if you ve plugged back all the ribbon cables from battery and everything else. You might just plug back one not fully and it might not turn on. So just check it and also check if u didnt damage any cable etc

PS Vita 1000 does not have a LCD so you can't replace one.

That metal bracket was there the right one and left one too. You can see it nicely at 2.59... but it is completely fine without it..as long as there are screws holding it of course 😀
