A few things stand out. Including the diagram of the belt route is incredibly helpful. In addition, her comments about why jacking under the oil pan and turning/folding the new belt to make it easier to install are seemingly minor, but important. Finally, the quick old/new belt comparison is nice for us amateurs who worry that we bought the wrong part. Thanks for this.

One more note I earned while doing this. Sue's element has mystery washers under that nut that sits on the stud. Why? Because that stud is super tall, even too tall to fit most 17mm deep sockets over. The previous owner of her 06 Element experienced this, and sat the nut up higher with washers for next time. I learned this on the fly. You will need a 17mm deep socket that is longer than 3 inches. The husky 1/2" drive impact socket worked for me. Other impact and standard deep sockets I already had were not long enough. Not including the time spent getting to a home depot to get another 17mm socket, this job took the time for two 311 albums to play through, including getting the Element on jackstands for easier access and cleaning tools. Hope that helps everyone else who is about to tackle this. Super easy job with the right tools.

just a heads up. you don't need to loosen / remove that engine mount. you can swap the belt in stock format, it helps to remove the passenger tire and that plastic. good video...i needed to double check the routing, and that belt route picture you have is genius...

Note 1A Auto's written comment about her supposedly needing to lif the engine: "Thanks for checking us out. You can do this without jacking the engine up, this gives a bit more room and clearance to make the job easier to get the belt in."

Thanks for this video, very helpful. One note, the 14 mm wrench she used has a long handle, you need that length for leverage on the tensioner. I made it work cobbling another wrench onto my 14 mm open end for an extension, but it's not ideal.

Did I miss the torque specs on the engine mount nut and bolts?

It would be best to clean your ground connection that's bolted on to that engine mount before reinstalling. sometimes you can get grease or rust in between the connection

Do you use a longer deep well for the 17mm long bolt? I was using mine and I didn’t have enough room to attach the ratchet. Please help

The video was great. If 1A carried the part, I'd buy it from you. But you don't, it seems. Thanks for the video anyway.

For another twenty bucks you can replace the tensioner pulley I find they squeal after a new belt is put on

Pulling the mount out is ridiculous. Yes it's easier to see, yes it might make it a TINY bit easier, but to remove a mount and go through that extra work is just asking for trouble, especially when making a how-to video & especially when using the oil pan as anything but an oil pan!

For those who have the Aerogenics engine & subframe lowering kit, don't forget to loosen the bolts on the passenger side engine mount, remove the spacer and raise the engine back up. Impossible to install the belt without doing so! Like putting a round peg on a square hole.

Hey why do you even need to jack the engine up? U cants do that without taking the mount off?

NEVER jack or rest the engine on the oil pan!! You also don't need to pull the engine mount. Just take the power steering pump off, and pull the wheel off the tensioner. Simple.

wth? DO NOT REMOVE THE F'G front engine mount!!! That is absolutely unnecessary and a huge waste of time, effort. My belt was easily replaced by removing only the P.S. pump and the overflow tank. Everything she does here can be done not touching the mount.
