I’ve watched several videos on how to get this done. This was the ONLY video that actually showed “how to” get the belt to go on by lifting the actual tensioner up. I thank you sir. My Jeep is back on the road and I didn’t have to pay a mechanic to say the least. Very much appreciated!

Thank you Gentlemen from Australia. You saved me shelling out $100 to a mechanic. FYI, this is the same procedure and routing for a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sports 3.7L. I found this video from the routing diagram on the thumbnail.

Better then the other videos I’ve seen but I wish there was a close up of how to get the belt back on step by step with each pulley. I’m a woman, what can I say. I need up close and clear instructions, I’m a novice. Best video I’ve seen yet though, thank you.

Do you know or are aware of the lbs. per feet of torque for the nut on the tensioner assembly and not the pulley?

Great video! I have used this video to change my serpentine belt about year ago and it went well. Just a week ago I started hearing a sort of screeching noise. It was subtle and has gotten a little louder. I have heard cars on the road with this same sound but alot loud er than mine. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the belt or the wheels they rest on. My question is how can I diagnose the belt and wheels to know they are bad or not? Thanks!
@1AAuto10 жыл бұрын
You may want to check the belt to see if there are any cracks or it could be the belt tensioner going bad.

Buona sera, ho questo tipo di auto. Vorrei chiedere se per cambiare la cinghia dei servizi, bisogna rimuovere la ventola, oppure no.

I went to Walmart for oil change and 1hour after driving after service there my steering wheel is like locked. I think it's serpentine belt idler blown off. Is it possible that while changing my oil or air filter they broke or did something on this part or this sistem? How much is the estimate thT THIS WILL COST ME TO FIX at mechanic? Thank you!

+Ronnie Parker We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

This same thing just happened to me yesterday, we were driving and when I checked the engine it melted! Luckily I was able to buy the part from an autoparts store nearby and replaced it for my old mans Jeep on the fly along with the belt. I can't believe this part is made of plastic instead of aluminum! even 1aauto sells it in plastic, unless you guys can reply a part number for a metal version I'd be happy to replace it.
