There is a center motor mount on my 2013 2.5 l outback. Will it flex up, or do I have to remove those bolts too?

I just did my 2013 Outback today. I didn't end up tilting the engine up with a jack; I wanted to try it without that step first, and I was able to do all 4 plugs. I removed the same parts off the Air intake as you did, and I took the battery out. My 3/8 three inch wobble extension and my 1/4 inch swivel universal extension were most useful. I wrapped duct tape around the swivel universal to make it like a wobble extension; this was used on the Drivers rear with a 1/4 ratchet and adapter to 3/8 drive 14mm deep socket. That coil BTW easily came out by gently pulling the head to the front and up. I was able to do the other 3 plugs with the 3inch wobble 3/8 extension adapted to a 1/4 drive ratchet. If my 3/8 ratchet was hinged I would have been able to use it on all but the drives side rear. I didn't torque the new plugs; I did the 1/4 turn after snug method. The old plugs at 70k were fine. A hinged ratchet would have been nice. Job took my about an hour and a half of actual work time. Thanks for your video; its videos like yours that can inspire the confidence for DIY.

Gonna do this on Thursday and I'm watching this to be prepared. I don't have a jack however. The other commenter mentioned being able to do it without one so hopefully that'll work for me. What does it actually do when you jack up the engine? Does it help you access the bolt areas? Do I need to physically lift the engine if I don't jack it up? 😳

How long do you estimate it took you? I've been getting quotes from local shops who quote me between $300 and $375 for this job. Of course they're quoting based on book time and not the actual time. Best quote was $258 for plugs and labor.

Just did this on the 13 legacy and lord knows why they put the plugs 1 inch below the frame so you cannot get to them without jacking up the motor. Took me 45 minutes car to change the plugs. Took me 10 minutes on my Honda

Yea. It’s not the worse spark plug change. On my 2019 Canyon I have to remove the intake manifold to change the drive side bank of spark plugs.
